Casey Jones question
Hi, sorry about this extremely lame question, lol, but seeing as I've only known Casey Jones via the original TMNT movie, I was wondering if he had any particular reason to become the vigilante that he is? Is it personal, or is he just doing it for fun?
|
by the new cartoon, it's b/c of a vendetta against the purple dragons who were running a raquetteering gig in his old neighborhood and torched his family business.
in the mirage comics... well... to be honest i've not READ the ones with casey's origin story in them. but it'd be safe to say, "vendetta" again. maybe people who know more than me will post. |
The Orignal Casey Jones in Mirage comics has a violent way of stopping crime.
In the new Cartoon he has a reason to stop crime only with the PD involved with it. I hope there's some plans for an Episode that would tell more about Casey's Father. Maybe that will come sometime in season 3 or 4 maybe. |
in the dreamwave comic that's based on the new cartoon, there's way more info about casey's family... a recommend it.

like the previus guys said...
maybe in the movie he's just plain sick and tired of people preying on people so he takes it on himself to stop them. |
This may be kinda dumb, but whatever:
Useless info: Casey Jones was a real person, he was a train conductor. |
There's a Real Ghostbusters episode with that bloke in it.
|
From Raphael one-shot:
Casey [watching some violent tv show]: "Geez... Those guys have the right idea: get the scum and dirtballs off the streets! But there's so much scum, and so few of us good guys! The cops can't handle it - they need help! My help! To defend the citizens of this fair city from the vile scum that sneaks about my city! Yeah, the city... My city, the home of Casey Jones! It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it!" |

I think he was trying to beat a speed record cause in that song it says "drivin' that train, high on cocaine, casey jones you better watch your speed" You know what song I'm talking about. |
It just now dawned on me to look it up. :D There is a museum, in mississippi, dedicated to the real casey jones. If you want to read the real story, go to this website:

I thought TMNT casey jones was named after the Greatful Dead song?

Maybe Casey Jones was just some random name that the creators thought up? Maybe it was a friend of one of their's?
|
Yeah, it's always possible I'm wrong here.
I just thought I remembered hearing that. But meh, my memory ain't what it used to be |
i just e-mailed the official TMNT site, and asked them, ill post their reply when i get it.(If they even know)

Cheers for the answers peeps, lol :)
I've now read the DW comic #4 - 'Meet Casey Jones', seen the episode and played Raph's story in the GBA game. Simple revenge, I like it :) |
