Well, it's a 1988 figure, but I have a feeling I'm being set up...

The figures with the fanclub forms are the very original figures. Those are the figures with the "squishy heads" as we call 'em.

After the original run of these figures, they were still making them and they all looked virtually the same but they did not have the fanclub form inside. All of these figures had solid heads.

The one in the picture is definately an original.

The later releases had different cards, too.

BigThew,

First Released figures came with the following:

- 1988 Date
- Fan Club Form (White Folder paper insert behind the weapons)
- Soft Head (Head is cast in rubber and has no seam lines)
- Back of Package depicts 10 Figures.
- Back Of Package States "Be A Mutant Turtle! Join The Turtle Team Fan Club. See Details Inside"

Just like the photo below:

Other versions from the 88 year include:

- Fan Club Form Offer is written on back of package but Paper Insert was not included.
- Figures come with Pop Up Display Inside
- Figures come with Pop Up Display and an offer for the Fan Club but the paper wasn't included.
- Figures come with Hard Plastic Heads. (There were released after all the other versions).

It's believed that all the figures from the first wave (except April) came with the Fan Club form. I've only seen the 4 TMNT, Bebop and Rocksteady with Forms. I have yet to see Shredder, Foot Soldier and Splinter. But they all exist with Soft Heads (again not including April) because I own all of them.

My listing will probably help you learn a lot about the ToyLine. I've devoted years to compiling the most accurate list possible. Besides, I own almost everything that's listed so I know it's accurate. Once I finish the revisions the list will not only look nicer but it will be easier to look through.

Hope this helps you out.

Yes it is an 88 series. The seller obviously made a mistake in the listing. None of the later releases in 1990 had those forms.

Yes, I will repost all the photos I had.

Hmm... Do any of you know if soft head versions of the turtles were released in '88 without the pop display or the fanclub form?

Yes they were released this way as well. Some packages have the Pop Up display sticker on the Bubble but the Pop Up itself wasn't placed inside. Also some Figures came with the FCF offer but no Form inside.

It's a picture on a piece of cardboard. And you can stand it up like those target sets. I do not know if several different images were made, or exactally what's on them. I'm guessing they were images of different characters. I have some of the Pop Up Figures but they're all carded. I dare not open them to find out. I'll ask another collector I know, he might have seen them.

VERY! Lately I've seen many of them end no less than $50 each on eBay. Worth depend on the Character. Some are more, others a bit less.

I have a couple of loose ones. The image is in the style of the classic toon. There was a cardboard backing with a second "figural" peice that would fit into slots on the larger peice.
