NTCF: I still find it very amusing that you seem to find a fitting quote from the old toon to end EVERY post you make

Oh, I can explain that. It's because while everyone else was out running around riding their bikes and playing basketball in their driveways, I was memorizing lines from the Ninja Turtles cartoon.

Because I knew that someday, I would find an on-line forum where I could unleash those powers on the rest of a Ninja Turtles-based society.

Or, to be honest, I'm just obsessed. That's what happens when you eat and breathe the old cartoon.

My hat's off to you, Cartoon Fan! I need to try memorizing lines from the old show myself, but I'm very limited to what I can recall.

Why the hell does sound very similar to what Saliva sings about in "Click Click Boom"?

I guess you could say nunchuks are easy to mimic or some crap like that but it's just stupid to get rid of them completely. I am very happy to see Mikey using his chucks again in the new series and he will hopefully keep them this time instead of using that useless grappling hook that never did crap. You can see how much different times have become since the old series was on which is why the new series is like it is.
I think that's why so many people say the new cartoon is better. Remember the pilot episode of the original cartoon? It contained lots of fighting, and the turtles using their trademark weapons. Didn't see much of that afterwards. Why? Stupid parents.

I to think it was the parents. First season was uperior to later ones in Story, action and animation. Animation is explained by the fact that first epiosdes were animated by Japanese.

How much time passed between the airing of the first five episodes, and the second season? I mean, how much time did the parents have to complain?

You gotta admit, the first 5 eps of season 2 also had good action, not to mention a great storyline (the Eye of Sarath). It probably wasn't until mid 1989 that the parents started cracking down on all the violence.

Yeah, this new show really did remind me of the really early old show. The first two old show seasons, the first red-sky season, the original Mirage comic, the first movie, the Archie TMNT comic, and the new show, all have the same cool old-school TMNT feeling! I love it!

Seasons 3-7 of old show and, the Secret of the Ooze have the decent, good but mass-marketed TMNT feel to it (actually Secret of the Ooze was kinda lame and seasons, 3-7 were still quite good but the feel is the same)

Seasons 9-10 (the other two red-sky seasons), Next Mutation, and TMNT 3 all have that nausiating "say it ain't so!" feel to them.

Anyway, that's my hiearchy, and my opinion.

BTW Jeph, I loved the sarnoth saga too.

Sorry, but I HATED seasons 9 and 10! The thing that got me through Next Mutation was that IMHO it wasn't quite as bad as seasons 9 and 10. Rest of the old show was pretty decent, however. And, it's OK if you guys liked 9 and 10.

Seasons 8-10 show the best animation in the series after season 1. And also the format is completely diffrent, no one shot episodes everything is connected. Of course this change began in the 7th season, it isn't that bad either. Seasons 3-6 are the most "mass market" like, altough they all hold few very good David Wise episodes.

Yeah 7th was pretty decent, but Dregg and those stupid transformation powers IMO completely ruined seasons 9 and 10! No matter how well-animated they were.

Well I liked the fact the TMNT were outcasts, hated by the human unlike the earlier seasons. Got some of that original darker feel in it. But yeah, season 8 is definetly the best season of Red sky, and probably the best after season 1. I really loved to see the Rock soldier army in Dimension X etc.

I would have probably liked 9 and 10 if Dregg was less of a dork and the TMNT didn't have those incredibly stupid powers.
