So I read the first issue, and I really enjoyed it. My favorite pages were the 1st appearance of the TMNT where the scientist is like "red, blue, purple, orange" and it shows them in the dark.

The Shredder/Batman confrontation was really need.

Did he slash that pipe to make steam? I wasn't really clear on that panel... I guess that is what happened.

The art was amazing, so was the coloring. The look of the book is just fantastic. A+ on that. The writing and all that was great too.

It is just 1 issue of 6 total, but the 1st issue came off like a teaser kinda to me, but then again I guess it is supposed to right?

Looking forward to #2 very much. (buy the issues people, don't wait around for the trade)
It was actually a smoke grenade/bomb shredder threw.

And I also agree with you on everything else, the issue was definitely a setup/ tease issue

Crossovers are stories I don't think make for good monthly reading. They fit the TPB better, because it will always follow the same crossover setup formula:

Both characters cross over to the mutual arena
Misunderstanding and FIGHT!
THEN they start working together

I doubt I'll be really invested in the main story until Issue #3. But until then, the smaller moments (like the Turtles being hunted by Croc and his goons) will keep me content.

Have you ever read the Brave and the Bold DC series? That skips the misunderstanding and fight bit. Its definitely a mixed bag in either of the two stories but some treasures of team ups within either series.

Nope. Only read Batman and the Bat-Family titles, and even that only sporadically.

This is the series in reference. Own from #85 up. The first volume became a Batman and ___________ team up for rotating guest stars and new ones added in as time when by.

Yeah, not really interested in seeing Batman team up with the D-listers. Thanks though.

Some were, but a majority were first and second stringers. Flash (Allen) followed by Green Arrow had the most appearances. It was intended for you to find an issue or two that might be appealing.

Just out of curiosity, which issues starring either The Flash or Green Arrow would you recommend?

According to this, Batman/TMNT was the 46th best selling comic of 2015...and considering it came out in December which is literally the last month of the year, that's pretty damn good:

http://www.newsarama.com/27420-marve...ight-year.html

Looks like this crossover might sell extremely well if sales for the next 5 parts are good.

I really hope this leads to more crossovers with TMNT and other DC superheroes....or of course the X-men which everyone wants.

i was shocked to find out that since marvel doesn't own the x-men movie rights, that they've been phasing out x-men comics and trying to push 'the inhumans'. which is kinda like a 'no-frills' brand x-men.

but who knows what will happen in the future?

personally i'd be plenty happy with more Batman/TMNT cross-overs in the future!

heck! Batman had at least FOUR separate cross-overs with Judge Dredd.

140, 000 issues sold? Wow, just wow! TMNT sells merchandise very well to this day,but never could sell past 30,000 copies of a comic book. A first for TMNT. Batman crossovers in a mini never sold this high correct?

that's been my hope all along!

ironically both DC's flagship Batman title and IDW's TMNT have consistently been my two favorite comics each month.
as time's gone by i've gotten way more enjoyment from the writing of TMNT than i was from Batman.
more people need to know about this comic!

The average IDW TMNT comic sells around 22,000-24,000 copies.

A Batman/TMNT crossover sells 140,000 copies.

LOL, my god, all the DC fans must have eaten that up.
