During SH Figuarts press, Bandai's reps at Toy Fair said they're strongly considering doing the Henson turtles, & that sort of expansion would be likely if the FW turtles did well. A few weeks later, they did a video to showcase the Leonardo sculpt & they excitedly said the pre-order sales greatly outdid their expectations & that they're already tinkering with new figures. So I'd say we're in the clear for more dope stuff from them.

Now, I rarely buy most of the Playmates figures, because the lack of articulation, the lack of paint details, and the lack of any decent figures worth getting are not there. I will however, be buying the newer Movie figures, because with a little paint work, and the fact they actually have some articulation, I'm willing to spend the nine dollars on.
Pretty sure these will cost more than $9. Probably approach $20.

Just saw Walmart will have exclusive secret of the ooze figures. Looks to be the 1990 turtles, with changeable heads and props from the movie.

I'm talking basic Movie Turtles from the new movie, not the Classics Movie Turtles, I've never bought any Classics figures, nor am I likely to purchase the new ones.

Sh Figuarts cartoon classic turtle details on Leo and some other nuggets of info. Starts about 15:20 of the video. We should see some other prototypes at SDCC!

More Turtle variants!? How frustrating. Remember Shredder and Krang? I guess it’s too much to hope for obscure characters like that right? I mean, it’s not like they have sculpts and prototypes ready or anything.

I like the Classics movie Turtles despite their inaccuracies, but these SOTO figures are not significantly distinct enough from those to interest me.

Thanks a lot. I can't wait for pics of these. Hopefully they come with some good accessories. (prefight donuts please?)

You can just make your own doughnuts, like I did! A little Sculpey & paint go a long way:

Most live action props would be a piece of cake to do on your own, & the rest can be substituted with doll-house accessories & the like.

Tried to give these sculpts the benefit of the doubt; sometimes you don't realize they're half decent until they get a makeover, usually via fan repaints. There's no question that they are super awkward looking no matter how you look at it, but there is some potential in there, it's just squandered by their cost-cutting tactics; limited paint, cheap plastic, poor choice in color, etc.

Even after a bunch of Photoshop doctoring, it looks weird, but there's a lot of room for improvement. At the very least, giving them eyelids would help.

Why is it so hard to make these look like the movie? I mean I know Playmates doesn't do high end collectables therefore they aren't going to be super accurate and detailed but they could at least try a little harder.

If Bandai makes Henson figuarts I'll be all over them as far as the NECA ones their scale is just too damn big for me to care.

I already own the classic movie turtles and I actually want to get rid of most of them and only keep one, but now I'm thinking of maybe buying one of these instead. I know its stupid but I'm a sucker for accessories like the TGRI cannister and the generic Pizza and ninja stars. I don't care about one offs like the mop or sausage chuks but the pre-fight Donuts just won me over, I don't even know why, I remember a dromer having them a a sig for years when started coming here, maybe because of that.

NECA has already said they plan to scale those sculpts down, & you can get any of the accessories you like from these through other means.

I'm going to have the inner mouths painted next week.
I might get some reference photos for the spot patterns, as my art teacher mate said he's happy to work on em. Hopefully he'll get it 'spot' on!! Haha!!

I wonder if these can be swapped like the original heads. I'm thinking could be fun to swap some of these around. I'd really like to swap that open mouthed Mike with one of the Raph heads.

Not if they stick with the vintage toy skin colors, like the in-package pictures.

I mean, you probably can, but the colors would be way off unless you custom paint them.

Man, these figures really suck. Although, they finally got Donnie's dark-purple bandana color right... if they were doing Movie 1.

I'm confused. According to toynewsi.com, these will be a six inch scale, so does that mean these will be smaller figures than the other classics? Because Weren't those like, an 8 inch scale?

These are in scale (actually pretty much the same figures) with the first classic movie set of Turtles, the classic TV and BB n RS figures.
