Probably extreme like Image was.

The only difference is Absolute is a new start for long established characters like Batman and Wonder Woman. The turtles would be starting over the DC way. Unless the release both a more 'traditional' TMNT and an Absolute extreme TMNT at the same general time.

I mean, Image was just a natural progression of Mirage. No retcons to the origin or characters. Strictly a sequel volume. Some people got hurt along the way, but it was ultimately still the Hamatos dealing with remnants of Shredder’s legacy.

Looking into Absolute a little more, it seems like it’s a “badguys already won” situation and the heroes are the underdogs. So something more like Same as it Never Was or Forever War?

Or maybe they could all be raised as Casey’s younger brothers and they’re street brawlers instead of ninjas?

How ironic would it be if the Batman/TMNT crossover comics they made was already the starting point of TMNT being part of the DC universe? That universe was already a weird mismash of IDW TMNT and DC anyway, so it wouldn't be that different if they continue it.

I can't remember, was Karai related to Shredder in that crossover too?

So TMNT already had 4 comic book crossovers with Batman (the Batman/TMNT crossovers and the Nick 2012/B:TAS crossover)

The Batman vs TMNT animated movie, which was loosely based on the first comic crossover.

TMNT were playable DLC characters in the Injustice 2 game way back in 2016.


We've already had TMNT part of DC stuff for over a decade before this merger happened. Even as early as 1993 if you count Donatello dressing up as "The Dark Turtle" in Season 7 of the original cartoon like Batman.
