Never really knew that. Always thought all they really did was dealt with only the financial business of everything. Either way I am ok. I don't really mind Bay at all.

AVGN Cartoon Series Review (1 of 3)

It's a pretty good crash-course on the Old Toon for anybody who hasn't seen it in a long time.... or ever. The video clips are all well chosen and edited.

This video was really well done. I love it when he reviews something like this.
I hope he talks more about his favorite stories (maybe in part 3?). It looks like Part 2 is going to focus more on the tropes of the show and recurring elements...

That was entertaining and well done.

As a Leonardo fan I do get a little tired of him always being considering the boring Turtle And the fact this guy pretty much called him useless got an eye roll out of me.

While I enjoyed this overall that part pretty much blew what little credibility the guy had left in my eyes as someone who understands this franchise at all.

Much as I hate to see any of the Turtles get dissed, Mr. Rolfe is entitled to his opinion.

I never said he wasn't.

I would never say he couldn't say whatever he wanted about the Turtles, in the same vein I am allowed my opinion and that was all I stated.

I wasn't happy seeing the Leo bash, but I liked the clip he included.
"Give me your knife!" that was hilarious.

Poor Leo, he's always getting the "He's boring" line.

That clip was great, he does have his moments. Lessond learned, never try to rob Leo, or any of the other turtles.

Generally speaking, I love Leonardo. But he was a chode in the OT.

I just think you're a hardcore Leo fan who can't deal with Leo being called out like that when, in cast interviews, it has been said that Cam Clarke is a very funny guy and it was a shame that he had to play the serious Turtle that doesn't often get to joke and is mostly limited to being like, "C'mon, Turtles! We've got to [something something something] before April/Shredder/whoever [something something somethings]!"

EDIT: I felt like making stereotypical lines for the other guys, too.

"Hey, dudes! Before we [do something relevant to the plot] we should get a pizza!" -- Mike
"If you guys can buy me some time, I can [technobabble that conveniently resolves the plot]." -- Don
"[Breaks the fourth wall to make a sarcastic remark about the current predicament]." -- Raph

The thing is that he just doesn't pay attention to every aspect of the franchise like the comic books and the more recent TV shows. For the AVGN, his TMNT fandom is mostly nostalgia, trying to remember how he felt back in the day and how cool it might be to see those memories developed for an older audience (namely, himself in his 20-to-30-something entertainment tastes).

Generally speaking, most TMNT fans tend to favor one era of the franchise and either ignore or hold bias against other incarnations. It's pretty much the same way with me and super-heroes. I loved the DC Animated Universe cartoons of the 90s-00s but don't really have much knowledge about the history of the comics, the Superfriends, etc.
I endorse this post. :o I don't think Rolfe is trying to "play it off like he's a huge fan." He grew up with the toys, the cartoon, the video games, the movies...and that's his exposure to TMNT. I don't think anyone can say he's not a true TMNT fan simply because he hasn't delved deeper into the franchise's history. (I don't really care for the original cartoon series that much and I hate the third movie, so am I not a true fan?) He does show the First Comics Book I in the first video, so he's at least looked into that much.

I watched the first video and got maybe about halfway through before I lost interest. I personally do feel some of his and Mike's ideas are a little absurd. Bring Krang and the Technodrome but make it more adult? Doesn't really compute in my mind. :p The Ninja Turtles just aren't a subject I care much to hear James and Mike's take on, since I care the most about the Mirage comics and the first movie.

There are a few such subjects where James and Mike's scopes are kinda limited on. They're fans, but not fanatical. But I love hearing them talk about horror movies and such (even though I even disagree on some of the stuff they say there). But, whatever—my scope is limited on a number of the things I enjoy, too; and plus there's the whole "differing opinions" factor. :p
