Lightbulb Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Training

I just noticed something about season 1 of the Nick show: There are not many training sequences within the show. It would be cool to show the turtles practice their moves. I guess this is to focus on the teenage angle instead of the ninja angle for the turtles. The 2003 series occasionally showed the turtles training with master splinter. Why do they seem to have so much free time to watch space heroes, read comic books, and not practice their skills?

Does anyone else feel the same or did I miss any practice sessions? The only instances I can think of is with any significance was the first episode(Rise of the Turtles) training session, and the episode with the rat king controlling splinter.

Also I think it would be cool for the second season, to focus a little more on the "Ninja" part of the turtles, and tone down the teenage part, slightly.
