I think he's a red herring and the girl will be the new Jedi. He'll try to use the lightsaber in one scene of the movie but he's not the Jedi in the film. The girl just has a more Jedi look to me and makes more sense that he'd be related to look since she's not black. Having him be the Jedi is fine with me as long as the "my family, you have that power too" quote still made sense, you can't have that quote to hype people up and then not have a skywalker member not be the next Jedi. I'd still be fine with it just to watch racist people get their panties in a bunch over the main character being black and a Jedi. Having two Jedi would be fine as well, maybe he could be the Padawan or whatever.
