But anywho, once I rewatched the episode I can actually say it was decently good. Once I got past the few scenes that made me cringe a bit and the fact that I nearly forgot Casey, April and Donnie existed...it had a pretty interesting concept as well as great, solid action-packed scenes so...yeah.
As for how I'd write Mona/Raph? I'm gonna have to go with Gold on this one. It would've been better- knowing that they only had a few eps with Mona in it- if they made them just...y'know...awesome butt kicking friends. Intertwine her dry, rough personality with Raph's gruff, sarcastic one and there ya have some pretty great and humorous moments between them. It would've flowed better and the writers wouldn’t’ve had to try to squeeze a relationship in there. But, if people love it how it was then...that’s all that matters, I guess.  |
I would have made Raph's and Mona's relationship more standoffish. Similar to Leia and Han in The Empire Strikes back. Raph's the tough brash type and this version of Mona was more skilled and more serious. I do agree that the Moons episode that introduced Mona Lisa that their relationship was a bit rushed. Would have liked it if it was spread out a bit. Not really the way I would have made the character but it is what it is.
