unarmored don and Leo Review
I went to Target today hoping to get the new Hulk Classics or marvel legends V figures. Unfortuantely they didn't have any. But I did find alot of the fightin gear turtles. I decided that I was not going to get these when I saw them at offthecard.com but those pictures just didn't do them justice. When I saw them in person for the second time I said "hey these aren't bad." So I picked Leonardo and Donatello because they are my favs.
![]() One thing I didn't like about the figures at first were their goofy faces. Its like they are all taking on that silly "mikey persona" that we love so much. Despite this, I don't think it takes away from the figure and ive actually come to like the head sculpts a little bit better now. ![]() Each figure has 25 POA. I found most of it to be useless because of the limited movement of the hips which made different poses while standing the figure very difficult. But it doesn't take away from the play value. Kids just want something that they can play around with anyway. I don' think they want to put the figure into cool poses and stare at them for hours. All of the figures also have their junkyard weapons as well as their regular weapons. As you can see I took the armor off of my figures and posed them with their regular weapons. I think they look better without the junkyard armor. One of the cool things about these figures is that they can hold different weapons and look right holding them since their arms are sculpted differently. Leo can hold the staff and Don and can hold Leo's Katannas. ![]() Ok one more thing I must say. I hate articulation in the hands! ![]() I found that don's staff kept slipping out of his hand. But I got it to stay put. Its no biggie. Other than that, these are some excellent figures and I hope playmates keeps making good turtle variants. |
