Alopex or Ninjara

Now, I don't mean to criticise with this thread. But I just can't shake this feeling. Alopex might as well have been Ninjara.

I mean, imagine reading the raphael one-shot with Ninjara, to me it wouldn't make any difference if Alopex was Ninjara, the only difference I can think of is that Raph's monologue about the fox moving in with them would be a bigger throwback to archie though I guess that sort of was the case with Alopex too, at least to me.

I don't mean to say Alopex is a bad character and I'm sure she has potential to be interesting but she is just so similar to Ninjara she doesn't feel very original. The biggest differences I can think of is that Ninjara wasn't a mutant and Alopex most probably is.

I wonder if the writers actually thought of using Ninjara when writing this issue... Maybe I should ask.

I heard some people say Ninjara is a silly name, I think it's ok, but even so that could be easily fixed by using her real name "Umeko".

How do you guys feel about all this? Would it have made a difference to you if they actually used Ninjara instead?
