Yes, there probably will be cards. This series is far more popular than TNM. The cards will probably be a blend of the CG work and the hand drawn stuff (seen at the end of each episode). I do not know who the manufacturer would be. I have never seen any sets based on Nickelodeon shows in a long time. The cycle to this series seems similar to that for the OT. Mikey's board was released in the first wave (just like the Cheapskate). The video game will be out soon (like the first NES game was). There will probably be more products for the show next year. The movie is slated to be out next year. It is very hard to tell what will happen. The Shell Cycle was released a lot earlier than the Turtle Cycle. The same can be said for the Retromutagen ooze. In this case, the more things stay the same, the more they change. I never thought, in a million years, that there would be TMNT chia pet. The 2012 toon will probably have better merchandise for it than the 2k3 series had. That could be because of the people running things. They were most likely children during the original Turtlemania.

I know this a dumb question but has anyone seen Leatherhead? I saw a commercial for the pop up Pizza playset and they showed Baxter in his battle suit which is not out yet. Paymates seems to be confusing folks.

That is not a dumb question at all. Everyone on other forums are asking the same question. I have yet to see a Leatherhead in stores. This reminds me of the OT Baxter Stockman situation. Thankfully, children of this time will not have to wait as long as the people of the past did. I am still surprised by the LEGO Baxter being released before the figure.

Playmates is great at doing that, though. They used to air commercials with toys that were "coming soon". They actually stated that those toys were coming soon. I guess they do not care about doing that anymore for the fans. They also do not release as many figures per wave now as they did then.

This decision of theirs doesn't upset me... probably better for our wallets in the long run, allowing us to save up for the next wave. Mind you, now that a lot of us collectors are older, we pick up multiples.

The less waves the better. They'd be filled with all stupid turtle variants rather than new characters anyway.

Its amazing how the 4kids line turned to crap so quickly with the variants.

Well varients can be a neccessary evil. They have to keep some version of the TMNT on the shelves at all times for newcomers to the line. Though I assume even most newcomers would prefer regular turtles over turtles in bizarre costumes. I imagine trying to keep main characters on the shelves while not flooding the market with strange varients is a fine line to walk.

I was thinking of the basic waves from the original toyline. Even three of those waves had variants in them.

They will probably fix that this time around. The basic figures have always been sold alongside the variants. Not many know that due to the popularity of the basic figures.

Well, I went figure hunting today...Hit up 3 Walmarts in my area, and the crazy thing is they ALL 3 just got through setting up new TMNT displays...but only of the figures we've already seen. I'm really surprised we haven't seen any of the new figs yet. Interesting thing to point out is that I seemingly arrived to each Walmart as they just finished setting up, because there were only 2 or 3 figures missing from the shipper stands from each store, so I was able to see how many of each figure there were.

The first location had ONE April out of the whole set up, but absolutely NO Kraang. The 2nd location had a Kraang! (which I went ahead and picked up for an extra Kraang in my collection) but NO April. The 3rd location only had a new setup for the Flingers set, and all that was left other than those were a couple of the original turtles and Dogpound.

At the time of my hunt, I had previously lucked out on getting April and Kraang, so I just needed to fill in some minor gaps and get the pop-up pizza playset. So after my figure hunt today, I now have all the figures that have been released so far. Now just to wait on Baxter, Snakeweed and Leatherhead...

I know what you mean. I just saw those displays yesterday and went through them quickly in hopes of finding Stockman and Snakeweed, but no luck. We might not see them in a few weeks as there's still 3 weeks left in this month and sadly this line is known for releasing new figures at the last month and then more during the official month they were set to come out.

What a great day I had today! I went out because of the BOGO 50% Off sale at TRU but ended up finding nothing. So on the way back I decided to stop at the Wal-mart I shop at all the time, that was on the way to see if they had anything since they price match. I couldn't believe it when I walked down the isle and saw an April sitting front and center! Now I already do have one loose, but I wanted another in her packaging so I snatched her up, then right behind her was a Kraang! I grabbed that as well. They had a Splinter as well, but I passed on him. Anyway, 8.88 and 4.44, very happy

I noticed something different about this Kraang I picked up though...has anyone seen this? It has like shiny "brushed metal" streaks on it. This isn't on my other Kraang

It's funny you noticed that too about Kraang, I just found one yesterday at WM that had the same thing. My original Kraang had a dull paint job and this new one has a shiny brushed finish. I bought this one too so side by side you can tell a difference. New variant?

I wonder if this means they are starting to repack him? Maybe they only had a break because they wanted to make him "look cooler" so he would sell better?

Great news. Maybe they are starting to re-incorporate them into shipments. I knew it had to happen since there is a Kraang vehicle coming later this year. The shortage sucks for collectors who only started buying figures in the last few months though, I understand.

About the paint... that's interesting, I'll have to examine mine more closely. I don't *think* that's new but might be wrong. I think some figures just have worse paint apps. Also those markings are similarly-colored to the actual plastic being used so it's easy to not notice it until you catch it in the right light/angle. If I spot any in the wild that look different i'm definitely buying them.

Thanks for your reports guys... every day is one day closer to leatherhead, baxter and snakeweed ^__^ Even if I we don't know exactly what day that is... lol.

Though I assume even most newcomers would prefer regular turtles over turtles in bizarre costumes. I imagine trying to keep main characters on the shelves while not flooding the market with strange varients is a fine line to walk.
