Splinter once said in the OT that it's not the destination, but the journey. There is less than eight hours until the premiere as I post this, but there is one final thing that us fans should listen to, and that is Rob's interview with the show's executive producer, Mr. Ciro Nieli. It reveals that when Vol. 1 #1 was released, Eastman & Laird kept 2,000 copies for Comic Cons and only 1,000 went to LCS's.

They also say that work for the second season has begun, and that Mr. Nieli says a "minimum" of four seasons and that it could have legs and last ten seasons.

kind of obvious... it's really a tradition that when it comes to martial arts that the master gives the final test to his students. Such as Splinter was the Tengu for the turtles, Yoshi's master was also the Tengu

and also for clarification, the hands of the Tengu was obviously Splinter's

Well then, I guess it was too obvious to post about other than myself.

But to answer your question, it was literally turtles 4 sale, which would kind of throw people off who use grammar like myself and it took me four tries until I got it right, if you can believe.

I really hope the show does well for Nick, even beyond being a fan of the property, because if it doesn't, they're gonna be out of a hell of a lot of ad money. I'm about ready to play a drinking game with every time I see one of the little 5 second promos, and I'm not even watching Nick right now.

I can't remember Nick ever promoting any premiere as much as this one. It's non-stop. Even when it's not an ad break, there's a couple of TMNT-themed Nick bugs in the bottom corner of every show (a green, shell-textured one and an orange one that's made to look like it's been spray painted). Oh, and sometimes at the end of a show one of the turtles cuts their weapon down the screen to make the transition from show to commercials.

I'm curious, though, has anybody seen any promos on the commercial breaks of other channels, like Cartoon Network? Here in the UK they play the promos on other channels and I'm wondering if it's the same over in the US. All this promotion is great, but it does count on kids watching Nick in the first place.

ok, so i recorded "Game Trailers TV" off of SPIKE last night, and I watched it back this morning and during the end when Geoff was interviewing Reggie Fils Aime, in the corner, the SPIKE logo turned into a promo for it! i had to rewind to make sure that's what i saw!

Me either, I don't think even Korra got this level of promotion. Then again, that show already had a built in fanbase coming in from the first Avatar show, whereas this one has more to prove, even if TMNT has been around for so much longer.

I keep seeing them ALL the time on MTV2 at the moment, if that's any indication, lots of those little 'bug' ones you mention. And they seem fond of playing this little animation of Leo peeking out of a manhole, placing '9/29' on top of the manhole cover, then pulling it closed. MTV is also owned by Viacom though, isn't it? So I guess it's not much of a surprise there.

I don't know for sure, but I kinda doubt Nick would be able to get ads for Turtles on Cartoon Network. They're competing networks, so I could see that being hard to do, for the show at least - toy commercials, when they come along, may get on CN though.

A friend of mine caught an ad in a really odd place last night though - he was watching some wrestling program (trying to get back with him to figure out exactly what program and channel) last night, and they played a promo for the show in the middle of a match, right before a commercial break. As in, not even in a commercial - the wrestling commentators themselves spoke about the show apparently.

Update: Just heard back from him, it was on Spike TV during last night's TNA Impact. Is Spike a Viacom owned channel?

If they want evryone to know about it then they have to advertise it evrywhere even on their competition network
