I love this show because it makes me laugh out loud while watching it and to be honest I'm a 30 year old bitter cynical miserable person and nothing ever really makes me laugh anymore so I'm glad some of the moments of this show do.

Anyways, I kind of missed the part where they sneak off to go to a movie as mentioned in all the previews? I thought they were just going skateboarding? lol

That said, nobody made you come here, either, and I, personally, do not appreciate you insulting people just because they happen to hold opinions that you disagree with but are otherwise innocuous, or because they occasionally imply that a particular creator is not the second coming of Jane Austen.

Yes, the thoughts and opinions expressed here are sometimes (often?) incredibly frustrating. Yes, you're perfectly allowed to take umbrage and/or offense at them, and to explain why you do or don't agree. You do not, however, get to just come in here and insult a community you are not a part of. Whether you're a creator or not--and I have no reason to believe you aren't--this is not the behavior of someone who is acting in good faith; it's the behavior of a troll. Don't be a troll; it's not a good look on anyone.
A very reasonable assessment.

The internet is not the best place to go to if you want people to make you feel good about yourself, but in any case most people dig the show.

Wow... that really lowered my opinion of Ciro. I mean, I definitely wouldn't come here either if I were him, but that smart-assed hissy-fit "goodbye post" was just plain lame.

Doesn't change how I feel about the show though, it still kicks ass. Funniest part was definitely the whole "he might be going to Church" moment, and the fights with Stockman were sweet.

This TCRI business has me very curious. It seems like the Kraang have no connection (I could be wrong though), so what if... Utroms are on Earth, too?

I'm not shocked that Ciro was driven away. It seems that the Mirage guys refused to come here. Also, there was the whole thing where Stephen Murphy shut down and deleted his entire (extremely awesome) blog back when. There was also that whole thing where the Lionsgate guys came and asked people to be interviewed for Season 7 and they were met with a ton of apprehension.

Honestly, it's pretty run-of-the-mill for the Technodrome. Not that that's a good thing.

We wouldn't have this problem if people weren't such right c**ts. I'm pretty sure anybody who is proud of their job would take it poorly if somebody talked s**t about it right in front of them.

Why did Murphy close down his blog anyway? I thought that was more due to the fact that he lost interest in the Turtles after being burned out by the franchise. I certainly don't recall any negative comments on his blog.

And I just re-read through this entire thread, and I did not see a single thing that would cause anyone to raise an eyebrow. I think the only thing that might have bugged him was saying Peter Laird would reject this if it was a 4kids script, but honestly, that was all in good fun and probably the truth....if you read some of the first draft 4kids scripts on PL's blog they had similar moments to this episode.

I didn't really dig the whole beehive thing, but as long as that is kept to a minimum in future eps.

It just comes off as disrespect to me. It's fine and dandy to dislike things about the show but to sit there and say 'If this was done by the 2k3 people it would be betterrrrrr.' is just sh*tty.

Where did the 2k3 show get you? For all of these things they did 'better' where did the franchise stand when it was over? Hell after 2 seasons?

All shows go through a hype and decline period, then they die off, and then the cycle begins again. That's how most shows actually work, there's interest for the first 3 or so seasons, then most people drop off besides the hardcore fans, and then by the end the show finally comes to its conclusion.

You can say that for about any show in existence.

The 2k3 show barely sparked any interest at all. It was all with hardcores that were going to go gaga for it regardless. Most people still don't know it existed homie!

There's a life to the franchise now that hasn't been seen since the original show. It's not quite up there but it's going.

And the only reason for this is because it airs on Nickelodeon, not some obscure Saturday morning block that didn't even air in some parts of the U.S.

Also with Nick owning the franchise, they can promote it an air advertisements making the public aware of its existence. 4kids on the other hand was running off Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh money and wasn't as insanely rich as Viacom is.

I am kind of baffled by this entire turn of events.

What is a fandom message board for if not to post both positive and negative opinions about whatever the fandom topic is.

I am especially baffled because people have generally been positive about the show and most of the complaints have just been little nit picky fanboy things that you are going to see anywhere in any fandom.

I always felt with the Mirage guys it was different because topics about them generally ended up with less to do with the Turtles and more to do with people personally bashing the Mirage guys. I couldn't blame them for not coming here.

I mean the personalities in this place have ups and downs and I come and go because of that myself, but I don't see any reason to call any member of this forum out for this thread. Everyone, up until people decided to start name calling other board members in the last few pages, has remained polite and pretty much complimentary.

Getting back to the whole Batman analogy, why couldn't I love both the Burton and the Nolan versions for different reasons and have things I like and don't like about both.

I mean now I feel like I can't even mention the 2003 show in any of these threads for fear someone may misinterpret my words and think I am simply bashing the new show which I would never do I love it. I find this whole notion just silly!

You can hype and promote something all you want. If it doesn't click, it doesn't click. They're obviously doing SOMETHING right. Don't continue to be dumb.

Maybe in your neck of the woods, but pretty much every casual fan I know around here watched it for the first season at least, and for a long time there was *constantly* some kids perusing the Turtles section of the store. Hell even as far as Back to the Sewer, there was one kid I saw that was upset because his mom wanted to buy him, as he said, "Dumb I-earn Man" instead of "Raph". And then he was disappointed that the Raph didn't look like he did on TV (it was a movie Raph).

I do think it's dumb to use the 2003 series as the stick to measure the entire franchise by, though.

Hate to see Ciro scared off! I hope he comes back at some point. I've appreciated how people from behind the scenes of various properties have started to interact with the fans. I've tried to do the same thing on the stuff I work on. While I've had my share of nastiness thrown my way here and there, I've never taken it personally. (never had anyone be nasty to me here )

Well while it's always good to interact and have members of cast in forums I prefer to not have them if the integrity of the forum is going to be jeopardized. There are many fan forums were negative comments are pretty much banned in one way or another and there isn't true freedom of opinion in them.

Sure Ciro might not post here anymore and that's a shame but I'd rather be able to comment that an episode is mediocre than having tons of "Another great episode!" sucking up even if said episode was average.

In fact its the reason why I like Phineas and Ferb.
Haha my bro was exactly the same way, only with music. He had a fave band and he said to me "Don't you dare like them, they're mine!" But since he would listen to the same CD on repeat...one day I found myself singing the lyrics and I was like "uh oh he's gonna kill me!"

Anyways...I don't understand what happened to this thread either. I didn't think we were all being "depressing" ...

Nothing is perfect. All (most) artists accept that...
