Every reboot for ANY franchise will always be compared to what came before.

So what? This is a forum for discussion.

Oh no! Someone on the new Nick show got pissy apparently, lets forever never mention another TMNT version ever again!

I think the whole ordeal wasn't that it was being compared to the 2K3 series but that people seem to think 2K3 is better than this show.

But, there will always be fans of other incarnation, that will only care for that specific version.

Or there will be fans who simply like one version better than the other.

Yea but that's no excuse for being a dick to the creative team behind the new series.

You're still bringing this up? People can prefer something from the 4kids series over the Nick show.

There's never been an occasion where you've brought something up more than a few times, right?

Okay, so if 10 years from now you were to become a TV writer and developed your own iteration of the Ninja Turtles and a bunch of people came along and said "Your vision sucks ass! Give me the classic Turtles any day!" it wouldn't bother you?

Nobody said anything remotely close to that.

Where are you getting this utter nonsense from?

I said people can prefer certain aspects of the older shows over the current one. NOBODY here ever said the Nick show sucked. Why are you putting words in other peoples mouths?

As of now I prefer the 4kids Baxter over Nick's incarnation. If there is actually something wrong with that statement, then I don't think you understand what the point of a message board is.

And if he is a professional in the industry he should take it with a grain of salt honestly. Welcome to fandom. If George Lucas had a quarter for everytime some compared the later Wars movies to the originals he could probably fund a new trilogy with the money.

It is the Internet someone was expressing there opinion about a cartoon I still don't see why people are going on about this.

You totally missed my point. I wasn't talking about you or any specific person here. I was refering to all the dipsh*t casuals who keep dissing the Nickelodeon series because they want the original cartoon THEY GREW UP WITH!!! That's the problem with comparing the new stuff with the old.

When Smallville first aired 11 years ago I wasn't sure I'd like it because in that show Clark Kent never wore the iconic costume. I wanted the Superman I remembered from the Richard Donner films. One evening I decided to watch an episode and I was hooked. I could've cared less how different it was from previous iterations of the Man of Steel.

The whole point of a reboot is to evolve the franchise and let go of what we're familiar with; To take these characters in entirely new directions! It's okay to have fond memories of those past incarnations, but we can't obsess over them and put them on a pedestal.

His post was refering to this forum though, there aren't any crazy casuals here.

I am sure nobody gives a crap about youtube idiots claiming the show looks like N64 graphics.

You quoted Cybercubed, so I assumed you were talking to him too. Of course, I'm not seeing anyone bad-mouth the show at all. Maybe I just don't look in the right places?

All I'm saying is it's not good to get fixated on any particular iteration of these characters. I know a few people here (though I won't name names) who put their favorite version of the TMNT on a freaking pedestal, and it causes nothing but grief for everyone else. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I enjoy most, if not all variations of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

The thing that set the whole thing off was the "If this was a 4Kids script, Peter Laird would have ripped it to shreds and it would have never been produced." post...which was a bit much.

As do I but I also don't feel I have any right to judge someone just because they prefer one single version.
