Solid episode, though not as good as last week's. Loved Mikey's water balloon mischief as well as Raph quoting Space Heroes. That cracked me up. I felt sorry for Splinter, but I'm glad he apologized and admitted his mistake in being so obsessive. It was interesting to see Leo be obsessed a little as well. Dogpound was huge, and I can't wait to see Fishface in action, too. I was glad April had more of a role this time and that she wanted to use her skills a bit more. Overall, a pretty good episode. Can't wait for next week.
Fave quotes: Raph: I can't believe I"m gonna say this. 'Get yourself together, Captain. You are our leader, so act like it.' Leo: You're right, Raph. That was just the Anxiety Ray talking. Raph: What, you're not gonna slap yourself? Leo: What did Donnie say about the chemical? Mikey, use the water balloon. Mikey: What water balloon? Leo: The water balloon you were going to hit me with. Mikey: *looks behind his back* Dude, you're good. Leo: We all deal with stress in different ways, Mikey. Don: This is my way of dealing with stress. Mikey: And this is mine. *throws water balloon at Leo who ducks as the balloon hits Donnie* Splinter: There will be no training today unless Michelangelo throws that water balloon.

And most episodes of the 1987 show aren't based on mutants, but Krang and Shredder sending Bebop and Rocksteady breaking into power stations for Technodrome fuel. |

Originally I was going to record this episode and watch it today because some friends and I were gonna go to the art museum in Philadelphia, but at the last minute we decided to just do lunch, so I was able to catch the episode as it premiered.
I have to say I really dug the fight scene with Dog Pound and the Turtles, and I especially loved Michelangelo's explanation for coming up with Bradford's new nickname. Kinda makes me wonder though why he still uses "Rad Brad" since it was originally meant as a term of endearment. |

I liked this episode. It was a nice change of pace after the brutality of the last one. I think Mikey rocks! It was so absurd at the end with Dogpound and the Shredder, and I kinda felt bad for Dogpound when Shredder slashed one of his bone protrusions. Also, Dogpound is huge! I love how he is more than ever a physical match that takes a explosion to defeat. Reminded me a little of Tokka and Rahzar in the second film.

Decent episode with a good plot. I like how they show the good ol' April-tude, in that, she's always sticking her neck out for the turtles and in the process, getting herself into trouble. Both the OS April and this new teen April have that wreckless attitude. Tho I noticed this April has interesting tactics to infiltrate the enemies....pizza delivery. I sorta look at DogPound as I do Hun from the 2k3 series. As in, why would he take orders from Shredder? He's twice his size! But I guess Shredder is more powerful and has the Foot. Splinter shows his weakness: fear. Was in interesting take on his character. I liked it.

Mikey was probably being facetious... In fact... I think he is always being facetious, I think his stupid act is him just actually hiding his skills... like a ninja.... YEAH.... thats it.... Hiding like a ninja.

Good ep! The chase sequence was really sweet. Total toy potential there with the patrol buggies, assuming plans weren't already in the works.
I'm kinda bothered by Shredder at this point. He's like, "guys, I'm such a badass" and he threatens Bradford and Xever every time they screw up, yet he never actually does anything to punish them physically. 2k3 Shredder was awesome for that reason - I mean, just look at what he did to Baxter.

@demonsweat: Thank you
Cassandra Peterson aka Elvira is confirmed to voice a female Kraang. Jeffery Combs voiced Dr. Victor Falco a deranged scientist, while Combs is best known for playing Dr. Herbert West in the 1985 film Re-Animator who was also a deranged scientist. In fact in the scenes where he holds the syringe is nod to the character who is usually seen holding a syringe with green liquid in it. In the episode Old Friend, Old Enemy, where the Foot Soldiers are hung from the pipes in the sewers, the way they were hung (or the scene in general) is like from the 1974 film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, where Leatherface hangs Pam on a meat hook and also in the 2010 remake A Nightmare On Elm Street, Freddy Krueger hangs his victims (Dean and Kris) on pipes in the boiler room. Almost all the magazine's Raph reads is mostly horror/science fiction. I'm not sure (since it was never cleared) if Ciro reads or is a fan of Fangoria or HorrorHound or possibly Monster magazine. Shredder does have some Freddy Krueger characteristics to him (he is also burnt) obviously minus the puns. I forgot who on here said this, but he (or she) who went to Nickelodeon studios to hear about the 2012 incarnation said that this Shredder has a scary vibe to him like Freddy Krueger. We are still in the first season so I'm sure there will be (if any) more. As for Hellrasier, I loved the first two, the third one was okay, could have been waaay better and the sequels don't exist in my eyes. Last edited by Kevin G; 11-25-2012 at 02:35 PM. |

After reading some comments here and Tumblr I have to ask, am I the only one that doesn't think Mikey is stupid?
Lazy.... yes, easily distracted heck yeah, but in general he actually makes a lot of insightful observations and he is an incredible fighter. Just my thoughts ![]() Loved this episode a lot. Everything with Space Heroes and Leo and him watching out for his younger brothers and Raph watching out for him. Really perfect! Also I liked Dogpound a lot more then I thought I would.

This Mikey is becoming one of my favorite characters. I view him as a wild card, for each moment when he pushes the wrong button and puts everyone in danger, there is another where he saves them with a water ballon (or chaining up the Shredder ;D).

I honestly love Mickey in this... sure he is kinda dim but hey he's always been a bit dim... he's silly childish and doesn't pay attention but he's so funny and adorable I forgive him... plus his nicknames for the baddies are hilarious (though Fishface is rather lazy...)

Personally, I don't think this Michelangelo is stupid at all. I find him to be hilarious and the kind of character I would love to have as a friend if he were real.
