Looks like Andy Kuhn's best art since he started. He definitely has improved.

Issue 16 is as usual a fantastic book, especially storywise. Check my full review on the link below. As usual it has some spoilers:

http://www.tmntlair.com/2012/11/27/p...ja-turtles-16/

I just want to say it here and out loud. Tom Waltz is the best thing that happened to the TMNT since Laird and Eastman.

Glad to hear such a positive review. A pretty obvious spoiler though
Spoiler:
that the character we haven't seen in a while, the old fan favorite kitten, is Old Hob. Unless you really threw us for a loop and those two statements aren't talking about the same character, and he's talking about Klunk!!!

Really looking forward to reading this issue. Not at the same level of Dan Duncan but i got used to Kuhn's art and to be honest started to like it. And once again the same thing happens, the artist leaves.
Also this is one of the rare times i really liked all 3 covers btw.

I like how the series sets up the following story arc while we wait for the current one to finish.

Really reminds me of the Archie TMNT Adventures in a way, due to multiple storylines being set up at the same time.

Stockgen could lead to more mutants if Baxter's plan works out. It also reveals where April goes to college in this series. Just like various animation studios in the OT, certain artists provide chunkiness in the character design. Casey Jones especially just looks a bit off. Is that the Technodrome on page 10?

Finally is it that time already? This issue seemed to come by faster than usual. But anyways... khuns layouts are pretty awesome. And his krang looks pretty sick and twisted. I like it. Doesnt look exactly like his OT counterpart and thats the good part. Anyone else getting a starwars deathstar feel everytime u see the unfinished technodrome? Cuz I do.

I think the scale is tipping a little bit too far towards foreshadowing stuff, though. Not crazily, but sometimes it feels like things are slowed/stopped to spend a few pages foreshadowing later stories... when maybe those pages could be better served on the present storyline.

This issue didn't do much for me. Kuhn continues to draw a fearsome Slash but everything else is still pretty dodgy. I think we're supposed to take Leonardo's supposed accidental killing of Slash as some kind of hard ninja life lesson when it was anything but (Slash basically accidentally killed himself on Leo's sword)... and then kind of how the last issue made sure readers knew that Slash killed absolutely no one at any point, the story tacks on an epilogue (more foreshadowing, of course) to reassure readers that Leonardo absolutely didn't kill anybody and is still a good, upstanding guy that wouldn't do such things.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I think it would have been more meaningful had leo actually stabbed slash, instead of it being an almost accidental oops moment, and it would have meant more, to me anyways had slash actually died. Not to say I really wanted him to die, it's just that they seem afraid to do anything bad.

The part with Mikey was pretty sad though.
