That's two more episodes than I figured. I still won't buy it because it's not HD.

I love solid state. I love having things on shelves. I still buy my music on CDs. They rip to iTunes in seconds - and POW! iCloud. It's right there on my iPhone. Hardly inconvenient, plus I get the nice case. I have shelves of movies. I love it.

But I'll be DOGGONE if I'm gonna PAY MONEY for a show in a lower quality than I watched it on television. That is unacceptable. This is not 2007. I'd sooner buy the show on iTunes.

That's nice; I was also worried they'd be out of order.

The animatics could be interesting, but the "Learn the Theme Song" featurette can be found on iTunes (for free) and YouTube.

See. I can't stand having racks of bullsh*t that I'm never gonna touch again. That's space that could go to something way better. Like the feeling of having a house that isn't about to cave in and trap me.

It's fine to love your VHS tapes and physical media but I'm just saying that the pendulum has begun to swing and physical media is becoming less and less cost effective. It's alittle more obvious when you go to a Best Buy nowadays and the dvd section is like 3 aisles instead of 6 like it was a few years ago. Sooner or later it's going to become the standard. Why fight it?

Quick question: if it is going to 125 minutes, does it mean it's going to be cut?

I know the completest will buy this in a heartbeat, but I'll wait until we get a proper season on DvD (or hopefully Blu-ray). I doubt very much it will be on Blu-ray since they canceled the SpongeBob Christmas, which was suppose to be a Blu-ray and DvD combo set.

I'm not denying that it's on the way out. And I've had to buy digital exclusives. I just prefer to have the solid medium. And I'm certainly not defending VHS. I happily upgrade to the next medium when the quality exceeds the old medium. Digital download movies do not beat Blu-ray in audio or picture quality. Digital download music does not exceed the audio quality of a CD, and as I said before, there is very little inconvenience in ripping a CD.

There is this new "Mastered for iTunes" thing, but I'm not yet convinced that it's more than a ploy to extend sales rights.

The prices are about the same. The quality is the same (and when it is different, it's the digital that lacks). So it's just a matter personal preference.

I just hope with the rise of digital media, we get more places to get it besides iTunes, because if they're the only game in town, there's no need to be competitive with pricing or quality.

Netflix needs to step it up

Amazon, Vudu and Microsoft are all in the game yo. I own most of the new TMNT through Amazon.

I for one love being able to own physical media so I can rip my own digital copies w/out any of the DRM b.s. If amazon video's downloads were DRM-free the way their digital music is, I would probably never buy a physical copy of anything again.

This. The only thing keeping me from going all-digital is DRM crap. I refuse to buy any digital media that I can't watch freely how I want to, where I want to, when I want to.

I hope this is a "kids DVD set" and Nick plans an "adult complete collection" on blu-ray for older fans.

Now I understand selling DVDs to kids with fewer episodes, despite the high price.

But for them not to release boxsets, or even half season sets, is absolutely ridiculous,

It's how they make money

So only six episodes? I think I may pass on this and wait until all of the eps are on DVD in a full season set. It makes more sense. The special features sound okay, but I'd rather have behind the scenes footage of the making of the show or audio commentary on the episodes. That would be cool.

Most likely because this is for kids. I have no problem with Nick or any company releasing sample dvds of shows, which this is. This isn't for the fandom or completest, it's for the little kid who may not know what this is or just want one episode.

Nick is pushing this show, I think anyone freaking out that we're not getting season sets is over reacting. The Korra DVDs just announced a week ago and the first season has been over for months.

Patience everyone. It will come. Mark my words.

i dunno why we wouldn't full sets w/special features down the line.

this franchise was kinda floundering and nick new it had a built-in fandom and endless potential. to just sorta decide to crap out mediocre stuff in the end kinda defeats the purpose of spending so much for it in the first place. they know us hardcores'll be wanting a bells-n-whistle set and that we'll pay for it, so i dont think they'd forego that guaranteed cash-in at all.

as for the quality, i'd hope a blu-ray release would be better than the broadcast...but im kinda clueless as to all that stuff. as long as it looks shiny on my hdtv, (and comes in widescreen), i'll be happy.

but for this...while its not the end of the world, yeah...it is a lil dinky to be fullscreen. but the number of eps doesn't surprise me in any way.

Depends on whether your TV is 720p or 1080p.

Guys. It says the DVD will be 125 minutes. Won't this mean that episodes will be cut?

They damn well better not be, cuz that'd carry on to any other DVD releases Nick makes.

Hopefully 125 minutes is an estimate.
