Methinks Rooish needs to read the Mirage/Image comics and re-watch the 4kids series. They've always been 'violent' towards eachother.

mmmm...
Curious debate here...

I only got a little brother, in our early years ....our battles were epic!!!

About TMNT dinamic ...I dont see it so disproportionate...

I remember when Raph was punished at home for his behaviour...Mikey miss him a lot... and he thanked to Don for a smack on his head as Raph use to do!!! ...Also I saw how worried to see if Raph was Ok when he was beat by Shredder.... Mikey dont figh back because he dont want...I mean...also remeber when Leo first time slap him like the Space heroes he maked a defensive pose, cos he was surprise that time about it!....later he only keeps talking about his meet with a Pink Brain! He wasnot worried for a slap or a smack from his bros...he dont feel bad about it neither...Only remeber He only felt sad/upset when nodoby of them want to be partner in Krang´s den ...!

About Don stepping back about Raph comment...I think its just Don being shy... noy actuallly afraid!

And about Splinter being hard with them...I think any parent scared by something that can harm his children have ever spoken out or punished them a bit more than usual! ....Just a small example: Long time ago We were visiting in a large dark cave were had rained recently, (usually was safe) , Suddenly I saw end of the cave and started to run out because I did not get wet .... I was just a kid and did not know it could be dangerous ... the only way that my father had to make myself stop was running after me to give me a smack on my head ....! and later he still frightened even...he told me that if the rains had opened a hole in the ground I could had lost forever! ....Thanks my dad for a smack in my head! I was runing in a cave without see were I put my feet! lesson learned forever!!!!

Anyway hope Rooish can feel better about the show dinamic with another points of view!! I think TMNT are lovely brothers

Well said! very well said! I think Rooish is overlooking all the GOOD family dynamics in the show, like some of the examples Luzmagica gave and I would like to add to that and say that Mikey and Don hold their own. What about in the first episode when Don points out the power cables, Raph then makes some smart alec comment, but Don comes right back and makes his point making Raph look a little foolish, leading mike to say "You got spanked!" But true Raph hurts Mikey's finger after that which leads me to another point. As some others have mentioned before, I think Mike and, to a lesser extent, Don ask for it sometimes. Some else mentioned that its fun to provoke those who are easily angered, I don't think its Raph being to violent, I think its just him holding his own with his brothers

I don't think the show is too bad. Hell my brother and I had way worse fights. I got chased with knives and he got locked in a freezer.....we're pretty normal kids now.

Also,to me, when someone doesn't fight Raph back....it's not fear, it feels more like....I dunno...maturity maybe? Like I'm not continuing this or whatever. I'm a massive Raph fan and I love this one. Leo is my least favorite and I like this one. So, the show's doing good by me.

I didn't think of it that way, but that makes sense to me.

Yeah. Roo, I don't want to gang up on ya here, because I think you make a solid point - to screw up that family dynamic would kill the show. TMNT has always been half the action and half that tight brotherhood they have going on (at least for me). But there's been a lot of teasing, fighting, violence etc. from all sides. Well maybe not from Leo, he's the boyscout.

Here's what I like to think. Mikey knows what he's in for every time he antagonizes Raph. He doesn't care. That's because pissing off Raph is worth way more to him than a quick smack on the head. And (and this is the big one) Raph would lay down his life for Mike, or Don, or Leo in an instant. They all know this. Raph's sometimes a pain in the ass to deal with, but the guy will defend his brothers to the end. That's where you gotta take yourself out of the equation. We grew up in normal, human families. These guys are mutated monsters that live outside society and fight for their lives every time they go above ground. Honestly the whole scenario should be way more dysfunctional.

As for Splinter... I like that guy. He's doing it right. Gotta toughen those kids up or they'll never leave the lair.

To show them that they aren't prepared for Shredder. Basic Martial Arts stuff.

My trainer often smacked our backs with the wooden sword if we did things wrong. If it was real, we would be dead. Lesson learned.

Impact training! Nice. Very important if you want to keep your head in a fight, though. My sensei punched us (with gloves) around various parts of the body while balancing or lifting weights.

.... Fortunately, as we are all a bit older in my class...., my sensei just gives us smacks with the foam sticks, and sometimes says "awkward" ... and that's coming from my sensei and it is quite "humiliating" for us!!! we are like kids again!!!!!!

Wow. Really? My sibs and I would have fights all the time. My brother used to pretend to hit me with pillows pretending he was hitting me with a chair a la WWE style. It was all in good fun, and we never meant any harm by it. You have to remember that the Turtles are teenagers and brothers. Siblings do that all the time.

And as for Splinter, he's just preparing them for a real fight. There's nothing harsh about that at all as he's the sensei and is trying to teach them what it will be like if they face Shredder and are not prepared. Common sense if you look at it that way.

Definitely agree with Stryker here. Having siblings is cool as long as you get along with them in the end.

I agree with Everything Katie said here... Me and My older sister had tons of fights! My husband had two little brothers, he was always fighting with them (he locked one in an outhouse and left him!!!!). My point is that These seem like real brothers to me, And they have their "warm" moments also. The totally love eachother (as family).

I like this "new Leo" more every episode!!!!!! Best Leo EVER, and I never liked the guy before!!!!

Yep my guide says the same thing. I'll still check to make sure though in case it's a mistake, but I don't think it is.

Great episode. Loved the action, family antics, and jokes.

The Shedder dream sequence totally reminded me of Freddy Kruger...horrific

Leo's T phone pic and name "Ichiban Turtle" ...hilarious

April's high school pic...hideous

I'm loving Saturdays!

Dogpound's design.... Is cool overall but the mustache and the big fluffy tail kinda ruin it. I do love how big his left fist is though, like he has to lug it around.

Yeah I agree that the mustache is wack (I've always hated them on anthropomorphic animal characters) but outside of that he looked pretty damn cool, I think. Definitely way more badass than his action figure and still shots had lead me to believe. I dig him.
