Better than characters who were just toys and never appeared in anything like Monty Moose or Hot Spot.

And that happens with any long running TV program. Shows can only keep their original audience for about 5 years before they drift.

Scumbug was in the comics when the comics were starting to get good. Though it was kinda/sorta of a filler issue.

Just saw the sort preview for next week's episode, and I gotta say, I'm starting to become really disappointed with the way Nick is handling Leo and Raph's relationship. While there's never been any doubt they are just as close as their other brothers, it's really starting to annoy me how there's pretty much NO showcasing their classic rivalry. Leo and Raph butting heads just seems like an integral aspect of their characters, and at this point it feels like I've seen them argue more with Mikey and Don than with each other. It was cute at first showing them on more friendly terms, but now I think it's far enough in that some sort of argument between them should have appeared. As excited as I am for the return of Stockman and the arrival of the Mousers in the next episode, it just seems like another opportunity to show off how much Leo and Raph ignore Don and Mikey in favor of each other.

The Leo and Raph rivalry has been done enough. It's refreshing to see them get along more.

Why should they keep doing the same tired story that people complained about in the last movie?

Refreshing for awhile, sure. Not so refreshing when it feels like it's beginning to change an integral aspect of their basic characters. But hey, that's just me. I don't see the point of fixing something that isn't broken.

So boring and overplayed doesn't constitute something being broken?

Maybe to you it does, maybe to me it isn't boring and overplayed. Like I said, it's just my opinion.

Wait have we been watching the same show? Raph is always teasing Leo about everything (his obsession with that show, and his leadership- sure their not at each others throats but they constantly tease each other all the time they're hardly buddy buddy

They all tease each other pretty equally, that's expected. The actual arguments over vital decisions seems pretty lacking imho. The only time I can recall was during Never Say Xever when Raph was annoyed at Leo for allowing the Purple Dragons to get away, and even then Leo didn't seem to defend himself a whole lot over his decision, it was a bit disappointing see Leo as such a doormat. In Turtle Temper, sure, Raph got annoyed when Leo sent him home, but he did it anyway like a whipped puppy instead of following after as I would have expected him to, or have gone him but remained frustrated with Leo's 'power tripping' instead of just letting it go as he did.

In Never Say Xever Leo wasn't 100% sure about his decision remember? he was questioning if what he did was right... so why would he defend his decision if he himself was unsure of?

As for Raph he knew Leo was right (even if he'd never say it out loud... his temper was getting in the way) here Raph is still a hothead and Leo i sstill kinda uptight but I and most other fans like how they are handling their relationship sure they still snipe at each other more then the others but they aren't assholes to each other...

If Leo wants his brothers to believe in him as a good leader how is he going to do that if he's showing them he doesn't believe in his own decisions? I never believed Leo was always 100% certain in every single decision he made, but he knew he had to put on the front that he did as he shis brothers' lives so often in his hands and he needed them to be sure they could trust in whatever decision he made for them. I know I don't like following someone who doesn't look like they know what they're doing, and it's weird to me that the others, especially Raph, don't really seem to care that they're supposedly following someone just as clueless as themselves. It just seems logical that if Leo was obviously stumbling then his brothers would call him out on it more. I guess it's also because it doesn't seem like they argue more than the others. I've noticed Leo fighting more times with Don than he has Raphael.

But as I said, that's just my opinion. The entire reason I love the TMNT as much as I do is because of how I've always seen them, that's what makes them who they are to me. Watching them acting so different gives off the impression of them as being entirely new characters which I'm not sure I like as much.

Wait, someone complained about that? I was under the impression that the rooftop battle between the two was the most universally liked part of the film.

I also think it should be stated that we are only like a quarter of the way into season 1 and the Turtles have just started to get a taste of the actual dangers they will be facing.

I do think we will be seeing a little Leo and Raph conflict down the road, simply because they are two strong personalities that I know at points will clash. I like how they are developing them here and I can't wait to see how it progresses!

I'm not bothered by Leo and Raph's personalities here. Sure, they don't butt heads that much, but that's a good thing because we've seen that all the time. Also, you have to remember that this universe is different than the others in that the Turtles are still growing and evolving with their personalities and how they view the world. I'm sure that in time there will definitely be more conflicts between Leo and Raph in the future, but for now, I love the friendly rivalry they seem to have with each other. It's refreshing to see them have a friendly rivalry rather than to have them act like they want to kill each other.

I also dislike that Leo and Raph have a sort of alpha buddy-buddy thing going on at the expense of the others. I'm disgusted about the premise of the next episode--Don and Mikey have to prove their "B" team is just as good? I'm sure it will be a good lesson, but it upsets me that there was any doubt. I like the Leo-Raph conflict of previous incarnations, it's an integral part of the TMNT.
