Mom got the mail instead, so I didn't have to worry about it.

Sounds awesome, BB. I hope you get that dusting of snow.

Careful of stupid drivers also. Around here its like people forget we live in a country that gets snow and ice and they drive like maniacs

Well, I don't drive like a maniac, but one snowy evening years ago I drove along a plowed road and forgot how slippery the road surface was. I was heading toward a stoplight and I braked-and my car skidded forward. I really kept turning the steering wheel out of fear I would cross over the center line and crash. Ultimately my car spun around and slid against the curb-fortunately causing no damage. My car had spun around so I was facing the wrong way on the street! Good thing there was no other traffic except a car at the other side of the intersection, well away from me, and the only traffic in my lane were cars well behind me. I was able to turn around and continue home safely. Fortunately all that was hurt was my pride.

Thanks. When you have gone through a situation like that. consider yourself lucky if all that resulted was that you feel stupid afterard.

And BTW, rainy weather is treacherous too, but people often fail to realize that.

Yes indeed they do. And as for similar situation, my older brother was driving the family van one Christmas Day, he had to go home that day as was usual when he still lived close to home, any how, he hit a patch of black ice and the van ended up in the ditch, luckily we didn't roll and all that was hurt was pride, but could've been worse. My bro didn't want to continue driving but my Dad convinced him to

Ok first off. Regarding Jehovas Whitnesses. yeah they don't celebrate christmas or any holiday (or birthday!) really (except Easter. I still laugh over getting invited to a celebration of his death...) but I've got some JW friends and they've never pressured me into joining them. We've got this one gal who comes to our door at least once a month to give us the latest issue of their magazine (which actually has some interesting articles every once in a while).

I even sent one of my JW friends a christmas card this year just cuz I could.

As for all the other holidays. Im not christian anymore cuz I converted to Buddhism but I still celebrate St. Nicholas Day, Christmas and even Hannukah (I have a Jewish uncle). This year Hannukah fell upon Bodhi Day (Kinda the Buddhism version of christmas) so it was a win win for me. *lol*

So happy St. Nicholas Tag, Christmas, Hannukah, Bodhi Day, St. Stephen's Day, St. Lucy's Day, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, Festivus, and whatever else holidays there are in December...

Which is exactly why it, technically speaking, is more important than his birth. Though to be fair if you're not born you can't die, but it was kind of his "mission" to be a sacrificial lamb for mankind.

A Jehovah's Witness who used to be a coworked said that it was Passover that they celebrated (which Christians don't celebrate).

Really? That's weird because I know a JW who came to our house who wanted us to go to a celebration of Jesus's resurrection. Don't Jewish people celebrate Passover, too?

Well, I think Passover is the same as Easter just a different name for it.

I think Passover may be strictly for Jewish people as they don't believe in Jesus. Maybe JWs just call it Passover, though they celebrate the death and resurrection, I guess.

Anyway, one more week until Christmas. This month's just flying by!
