If the 1987 universe had a red sky in the movie, the Mirage turtles wouldn't have made fun of their counterparts.

Okay maybe they wouldn't have made fun of 1987 TMNT as much.

If Krang had access to Dimension-X, his rock soldiers might have evened the odds, especially with the 1987 turtles not being as serious.

Turtles Forever is the only time I've seen the Technodrome fire its top cannons.

This was one of the best things to happen to the turtles in years in my opinion. The part with the comic turtles is my favorite, seeing as theyre my favorite version of the turtles.

Really? I thought it was just one of the ways they pretended to understand the '87 cartoon and insulted it. Rat King could have been holding up City Hall or Big Louie robbing a bank. The Gremlins,sentient pizza and sentient banannas were something out of a Michelangelo goofy nightmare taking up a chance for another character to appear and be more accurate to what the '87 cartoon was. It may be all in good fun,but I wnat an accurate tribute.

Actually, I have been watching the old toon lately, and it wouldn't surprise me to see some mutant bananas in one episode. And I haven't even ended with the third season.

There were some very nice touches in the references to the old toon. From the characters that appear in the '87 segment, to the use of the exploding shurykens. I think they really did their homework.

Turtles Forever was fun and I mostly enjoyed it, but it irritated me how 'goofy' they made the OS turtles. Mutant bananas...wtf? Why not show some of the Red Sky turtles, or hell...just some of the eps of the earlier OS seasons. They were quite serious at times. There wasn't as many ninja moves in the OS, but it got better as the seasons progressed. And I didn't get what was so "weird" about their 1980s universe, says the 2k3 turtles.

Pretty sure there was mutant pizzas and other nonsense in the actual Fred Wolf cartoon.

There was a pizza that tried to eat the Turtles, but it was an illusion created by a machine rather than a mutant.

The mutant bananas was one example. The OS turtles giving the 2k3 turtles noogies? It's like all the OS turtles acted like Mikey or something. Just stupid. But I guess I can't expect much considering the whole movie was very 2k3-centric. I did like how the comic book turtles came to life, and there was the narration thing going on.

They missed a good chance to have... say... Leatherhead, Rat King, Baxter and Slash chasing down April or whatever.

I agree with the noogies. Like I said before, they used them so often that any non-fan of the OT would think it was one of the staples of the OT. Like, hey, remember the 80's cartoon, with the surfer slang, the pizza references and all the noogies? Remember the ep Leo and Mike kept giving each other noogies?

I don't personally recall many 80s toons with 'surfer slang', tho perhaps I just don't remember....been a while. The noogies thing you're referring to is probably from the TMNT 3 movie. That's the ONLY time I recall the turtles doing that. Unless I'm mistaken...

I'm a big fan of the Mutant Bananas and Mutant Pizzas, because even though those things never appeared in the FW series, I can totally see such a thing happening if any of the writers would have ever had that idea pop into their head. That sorta stuff would have made it into the show without hesitation, IMO.

But as the noogies... yeah, I didn't understand why that was a running joke.

Turtles Forever gave me an opportunity to enjoy both the turtles my sons enjoyed but the turtles most of us grew up with, it was a great episode I really enjoyed how hun looked at the screen and asked who they were talking to it was just a sidesplitting moment. The only thing I would have liked more would have been a longer running time to really show off some more of the various background characters.

No, I meant in reference to the old show. Like saying someone talking to someone else about the OT, not all 80's shows in general. Again, Turtles Forever made it look like the noogies were a running gag from the OT.
