What the hell? I never noticed until now that it says "Weirdo friend" underneath Irmas name... That's strange.

Oh, Irma should definitely show up.

The reason I don't really resent April's damsel in distress schtick in the OT is because of her workmates. April gets to complain about her boss, snark with Vernon, tries not to get peer pressured by Irma to get a boyfriend. That sort of thing.

It'll be good for April's character to know more about her. And that includes her non-mutant associates.

Why would people think it to be wrong?

I think it'd be funny if say, the turtles were curious about school, of which we assume April goes to, and gets her to let him come along or he sneaks in disguise.

Thus, we see April interacting with Irma and maybe new versions of Vernon and Bern while trying to keep the turtles from being discovered.

Maybe Bern is head of the school newspapaer and wants to expose mutants that have been popping up all over the city as threats, to which the turtles of course balk at in some regards while Vernon sucks up to the him as school photographer.

Heh... Maybe Irma would take a liking to one of the turtles in their disguise even.

I doubt they'll use Vernon or Burn, they just can't fit in here.

Irma being April's classmate though makes a lot of sense. I always got the feeling in the OT that they knew each other for years instead of meeting at Channel 6 too.

What I don't want is for her personal life to have it's own episodes. Ugh! I can see it now. April and Donnie at the Halloween dance. Erma doesn't have a date, so Mikey goes with her to make her feel better, but just ends up eating all the food.
