Nickeloden Mutants

So far, the new nickelodeon series has introduced many new mutants. So here are my opinions on all of the mutants (so far)
----------
Snakeweed (Introduced in Rise Of The Turtles)--I think Snakeweed is a pretty good villain and a very interesting mutant. The fight with him was epic, and it is shown that he is still alive. I really do hope they don't forget about him and that he returns in a future episode.

Appears in:
Rise Of The Turtles
----------
Spider Bytez (Introduced in Turtle Temper)--I really don't like this guy. He's annoying, and his design is really ugly and to me, looks nothing like a spider. I'm guessing he will appear again, but I can't say I'm looking forward to it. It doesn't help that he was in a filler episode either.

Appears in:
Turtle Temper
----------
Dr Tyler Rockwell (Introduced in Monkey Brains)--Another useless mutant, and again, in a filler episode. I have pretty much the same opinion as I did with Spider Bytez.

Appears in:
Monkey Brains
----------
Pigeon Pete (Introduced in The Gauntlet)--Same thing as above. I guess he served a purpose (kinda..) but I doubt we'll ever see him again.

Appears in:
The Gauntlet
----------
Dogpound (Introduced in The Gauntlet)--One of our two main mutant villains. From what we have seen, I think Dogpound is a really cool, powerful enemy to the turtles, and I can't wait to see more of him.

Appears in:
The Gauntlet
Panic In The Sewers
Mousers Attack!
----------
Fishface (Introduced in The Gauntlet)--Dogpound's partner. We haven't seen much of him, but once he
Spoiler:
gets his robotic legs
I'm sure I'll like him just as much as Dogpound, since I liked Xever.

Appears in:
The Gauntlet
Panic In The Sewers!
Mousers Attack!
----------
Leatherhead (Introduced in It Came From The Depths)--My favorite new mutant so far. I love his relationship with Mikey, and I hope he can learn to control his temper soon so he can become a great ally to the turtles. I'm almost positive we'll see him again soon.
----------

Now I want to hear your thoughts. What do you think of all these crazy mutants running wild in NYC?

I'm actually hoping that the ones who were human can get changed back somehow.

The monkey/scientist probably will, at least.

I doubt any of the others will. Dogpound and Fishface are the new Bebop/Rocksteady, they aren't going to go back.

Snakeweed and Spider Bytes are okay. Didnt really care for Pete or the monkey. I thought Dr. Falco was cool though and hope to see him again. Leatherhead has always been one of my favorite mutants and I love this version. Dogpound and Fishface I enjoy a ton as well. I'm looking forward to Newtralizer and hopefully Wingnut and Screwloose.

Hello,
I'm new to the forums. I'm an 80's toon tmnt fan which rekindled the love with my kids recently. That being said we're watching the nick turtles and this is my brief review of this series mutants.
----------
Snakeweed - Although in human form, I thought the character held real promise. I disliked his mutated form being crossed with a weed. I do like the CG of this mutant, but was expecting a bit more substance. With a name like snake, I would have thought the obvious mutant cross, but oh well. Depending on the story line, I wouldn't be really disappointed with his return though.
I will buy the action figure when it is released for my kids.

----------
Spider Bytez - I'll agree with the OP that I disliked this character as a human AND as a mutant. Both I found annoying and it's one episode that I don't like watching over and over with my kids. I don't understand the design concept at all. The legs should have been on his back, instead of his forehead or head. His body is too round and makes it look too toony compared to other more detailed aspects of the show. I just believe that a mutated spider could have been 100x times better if it looked more detailed than a ball with extra legs coming out of its head.
I will only buy this figure for my kids if they really ask for it.

----------
Dr Tyler Rockwell - This guy was just a filler and only appeared briefly in the episode. The character didn't do much for me, besides give us the mutant monkey ( which figure I would buy in a heart beat ). Dr. Rockwell to me is a forgettable character and I'm not interested in a figure at all or future episodes with him, the monkey sure, Dr. Rockwell no.

----------
Pigeon Pete - The pigeon was hilarious IMO. This is a throw back to The old 80s Mikey's pigeon he named Pete. Although the glowing ooze is a bit odd, I don't mind him at all. If he played a minor reoccurring role, I wouldn't be bothered. He's not a star mutant but a cameo character. I'd buy a figure of him.

----------
Dogpound - My kids LOVE Dogpound. I like the character, Bradford was also a good character. As a reoccurring main mutant, he serves his purpose well. My only critique is the sizing. He seems to change his stature a bit in the episodes he's been in so far. He's the size of a tanker truck one minute, than just a tad taller than Donatello the next. We bought his figure, but was disappointed in the head. Wish it was fuller and perhaps on a ball joint like most of the rest of the line.

----------
Fishface - Although this character has only seen limited screen time as Fishface. It should work out well once the character becomes more of an everyday foe again. Xavier was a decent character and should continue to be a great foe for the turtles as Fishface. We bought this figure.

----------
Leatherhead - This character is fantastic. I look forward to seeing his storyline unfold further. The CG for him is great so far. Mikey's relationship with him has been fun to watch and it will be interesting if his temper will be toned down in future episodes. We will buy this figure, only hope the sizing and head is better than Dogpounds.

I'm just waiting for more episodes to be released for more storyline and new mutants. I'm getting tired of watching the first few episodes over and over again, lol. My kids make me Pvr them and watch them over and over.
Sorry in advanced if by adding my figure buy in the quick review was a no no.

I hope so as well. I have hope that he is getting better, as he was able to both talk about the Kraang without going berserk AND shift into his white eye mode while keeping it together in the end. I am also really happy Mikey finally has a friend as well(One that likes his cooking!). In case it wasn't obvious, Leatherhead is my favorite Nickelodeon Mutant.

I'm cool with all of them except Fishface and Dogpound.

I really appreciated that the turtles had recurring villains with formidable martial arts talent. It was fun to watch them fight villains skill vs skill, no special abilities/powers.

Snakeweed- Neat design (beating heart outside of body, writhing vines). Will get his toy.

Spiderbytez- Reminds me of Octohead from clayfighter. Might get his toy.

Dogpund: Epic design, shap claws. Have his toy

Fishface: Pretty neat concpet. Have his toy

Leather Head: Will get his toy

Pigeon Pete- love the shaved look, Might get toy if release.

Monkeybrains- might get toy if made

I can't wait for Cockroach Terminator, Newtralizer, and hopefully Ninjara, Alopex, Mona Lisa, and Venus.

Design wise, Nicks mutants are very hit & miss for me. Love Dogpound & Fishface, don't like Rockwell or Pigeon Pete. Snakeweed & Spider Bitez I'm more or less indifferent to. I think Snakeweed is kinda cool, Spider Bitez I don't like his appearance at all. The only redeeming qualities about it is that his weird ass body allowed for some really cool movement. Personality wise they're all fine, though. Chong seems pretty neat, I'm open to him. Leatherheads reinvented look is a callback to his Mirage roots but has a very Nick feel at the same time. Love it. Overall, they're not doing too bad.

The scientist should definitely get changed back.

I didn't think anything of Bebop and Rocksteady being mutated into humanoid animals way back when, but when I watched the series again as an adult, I felt somewhat bad that they stayed that way. Strange how that works, eh?

Bebop and Rocksteady liked being mutants, I don't know why you'd feel bad for them.

The fact that this show has so many mutants, with only two recurring, really drags the show down in terms of writing quality. Snakeweed, Pigeon Pete, and SpiderBytz all have disappeared inexplicably, with only Dogpound recurring regularly (and Xever, though he does absolutely nothing).

I'd imagine Pigeon Pete re-appearing to deliver more messages... or some episode where the Turtles need a message sent but don't know how, and cue next scene, Pigeon Pete is doing it for them, IDK, I just imagine those kinds of scenarios with him.

If that's true, then I actually don't remember it. Though there was Baxter Stockman who didn't like being a fly.

You don't remember it? Apparently you missed the 160+ episodes with Bebop/Rocksteady not complaining at all about not being human?

Seriously, where the hell did you ever get the idea Bebop/Rocksteady wanted to be human again? They never mentioned it once in their entire run.

Calm down dude. Not everyone is obsessed over a toon like you are. He made an honest mistake good grief. Stopped acting like an angry manchild all the time.

Bebop/Rocksteady are not obscure characters so I don't understand why he would think they hate being mutants. They were in somewhere around 160 episodes, you would think people could differentiate them from Baxter Stockman's situation.

Offhand I remember an episode where Krang used some kind of hologram machine to make it appear that Bebop and Rocksteady were human again. They were quick to complain and were worried they weren't mutants anymore. But yeah, off hand they were OK being what they were unlike Baxter who's main motives were revenge over being turned into a fly and trying to turn himself back to normal.

Does Leatherhead really belong on this list...? He's not a Nick mutant, he's from the Mirage comics and has appeared in other versions... the real Nickmutants are Dogpound and the rest....

Also again... Leatherhead looks like a mutant gator, and doesn't have weird spikes or a long-ass venom tongue or any other weird mutant mess-up. It seems Nick is gonna be 'normal' with the Mirage/OT/whatever mutants, and go nuts with their original creations. Even Dogpound has spikes all over his back and it seems his smaller hand is made out of bone or whatever material the spikes are made out of. Oh, and he has a super-huge arm too. And Xever turned into a literal fish, with no legs, when even Snakeweed had legs.

Now that sounds familiar, even though I don't remember them being worried about not being mutants.
