Bad news, guys. Looks like they're making us pony up another $25 -$30 for the rest of the season after all.

I am not happy about it. I like to get them in HD myself, so I'm out sixty bucks for a single season? For a digital download that I can't even burn to disc? Yikes. That's more expensive than DVDs are. Like many, I thought I was purchasing the entire season the first time. Other than the little "vol. 1" tacked on, there was nothing the really indicate that that wasn't the case. And how many "volumes" can a season be? A "season pass" doesn't tell you how many episodes you're purchasing at all. One would assume you were getting... I dunno... the whole season?

And they wonder why people turn to piracy.

Not happy about this... I bought season 1 but i don't think the first 12 episodes should be worth $60... when they can be gotten for free Soooooo easily both on tv and by alternative means.

I've bought how much TMNT merch in the last year? Many hundreds of dollars. And they still want to squeeze you for the show... thanks, Nick and Apple

wow...i dont buy anything digitally for just this reason. its never as reliable as going into a store and knowing (ie. seeing/touching) what you're buying.

this is kinda effed up...

zulithe, i noticed your presence somewhere else online earlier. you and i have the same idea about where to get our eps...

I have no idea what you are talking about!

Anyway I own "Season 1" (aka eps 1 - 12) on itunes, BUT, supposedly there are 26 episodes, right? So that means the second part has 14 episodes... in theory. So it's not that most terrible thing that's ever happened to me... it's just, like, the third most terrible

No matter how you slice it, $60 bucks for 26 episodes with no supplemental materials and drm that makes it nearly impossible to transfer the media itself freely is a rip. and i dont count the little clips and music videos they apparently include as worthy extras.

This is an unfortuante turn of events. I'm just glad I hadn't used the Itunes card I got for Christmas yet.

What a cheap way to make money. 26 episodes of a sub-par TV series is not worth $60.

It's Not Sub-par! Maybe to you, but not for 90% of people in this forum. But for the 100%, yes this method of gaining more money is BS!

Oh snap, they put the 2k3 series on itunes?

I'm just playing. You're alright.

I wonder if there's a chance they'll make a "Volume Three", just to spite us.

Since there are free behind the scenes featurettes plus the fact that ever since the days of tape recording on video, there's really no point in shelling out any money for this. I rather have the physical copy since its a much more valid proof of ownership (will there be a collector's market for digital copy antiques in the year 2063? I don't think so!)

Oh no! No antique stores for digital media?

Wait...who cares. The point of digital media is to eliminate that useless clutter yo. The pricing practices of some companies have nothing to do with that.

I'll take it over garbage dvds with 3 or 4 episodes on it going for 20 bucks each.

Well, I'm very disappointed, but I'd very much like to have the digital content stored on the cloud for download whenever I want. When I'm done watching, I can get rid of it, then download it the next time I want to see it. Saves on hardrive space on my tablet. Unfortunately, $60 is tough to pay...even when I love the new series! I do not have time to see the episode when it is on Nick. So...I'm weighing my options right now. I wish they'd be upfront with buyers for digital content's number of episodes in a volume.

The only part of this equation that i'm bothered about is we can be pretty certain they will all come on dvd, but what about those of us that want blu-ray for the superior quality?

From what I have seen Nick has not released any of their cartoons on blu-ray. I sure can't find any on amazon. You'll be hard pressed to find ANY cartoons that are not feature films on blu-ray... kinda saddens me. I understand the effort it would take to restore older stuff to 1080p, but TMNT should be an easy transfer. Yet I doubt we will get it.

So if you do want HD copies you have to go through itunes, amazon or some similar digital storefront... or piracy. Or keep them on your DVR but that is not a long term solution.

I might buy it anyway :3

it's fun just going on my I-tunes at free will and looking at an episode and seeing a scene I liked XD

plus I have a HDMI adaptor so I can watch it on my TV screen :3

my sis and I are just gonna split the money and we both get it on our Itunes XD

LOL, terrible. You can watch the whole show online anyway on various websites.

I'll wait for the bluray.

Cool. owning them digitally has great advantages, i've enjoyed having it too. i'm going to just pay the money and get the second half... i realize some won't and I don't blame them.

Usually once or twice a year (usually around the holidays) you can get $100 itunes gift cards for $80 at Best Buy or somewhere... the past couple years I've found that deal and taken advantage. As much as I complain it could be worse
