It's dangerously reminiscent of cartoon logic where characters don't/cant ever kill, but in order to force a dramatic moment, someone suddenly acts out of place. Batman: The Animated Series, even the 4Kids cartoon has done that with chopping off Shredder's head. A bit sad to see that here, but hey, maybe there's a reasonable explanation.

Thinking about it more, his main objective was to get him to drop the girl. So sticking a star in his head would surely do that, and feasibly not kill someone unless it was deep though to hit brain... So I guess he was thinking it was gonna just be a superficial wound.

Yeah, I thought about that too. It's possible Mikey took into consideration that this guy is made out of rock and expected it to have some effect rather than no effect, but the way it was just a little strange. Always risky since he didn't really know anything about them. Anyway, not a big gripe, I just hated when cartoons did that.

Could be Shredder was told, and he kept the information to himself, waiting for the right moment, and now Karai is just finding out.

Or it could be that Chet didn't reveal that tidbit of information, as he doesn't know the extent of Krang's base/defenses at Burnow, and if something went wrong, that could cause significant blowback. Chet's trying to keep as much control over his dealings with the Foot as possible.

Or maybe it just didn't quite fit narratively.

Could be any of the above.

Jut read this issue. Enjoyed the art a lot and the fight scenes were pretty cool too.

Idk. Mikey's reaction seemed like he was really surprised to me and if it wouldn't have been rock I think it would've killed him.

Just finished the issue, I gotta say, I loooooove the direction this series is going, this neutrino/Krang war is great, I'm also bent on collecting all varient covers now, we will see how that turns out

. Another thing I love is how many plot points we have going on!

Aren't Krang's plan and the Neutrino War the same though? One is really just part of the other/a side-affect of the other.

Well, Curnow said that basically when the turtles come back from Dimension X, they'll be feeling pretty good about themselves. So I'm assuming Krang will get the "beatdown he needs" (according to another member in this thread), and will probably be banished somewhere for his crimes, or maybe even killed. CityFall seems like it is going to focus too much on turtles versus Foot to concern itself with Krang or Dimension X. But we'll see.

got this and Secret History yesterday and read issue #18 twice in one evening!!

Mike probably knew the soldier was rock, and unless that shuriken has poisoned tips, then I doubt it would kill the rock soldier. (as someone pointed out it was something he was doing in order to get the soldier to drop the princess).

Also he's a teenager!!! A teenage boy impressing a girl will not, does not, cannot think clearly LOL!!!!!

I have really liked the back story on Krang's empire and Fugitoid's past. This team has been doing an incredible job on everything so far.

Just please have some action sequences with real martial-arts technique and not just comic book flying kicks.
(The artist can easily look at any book by Stephen K Hayes and simply mimic it with the TNT and said bad guy)
