I would say the third film has a lot of obvious problems. But I do like it - I of course liked it a lot more when I was a kid.

I guess I should mention that I love Troma movies and I'm probably one of the few people out there that see nothing wrong with them. I would actually plays Lloyd Kaufman as one of my all time favorite directors alongside Stanley Kubrick and John Hughes and directors like Fellini, Welles, Lang and Hitchcock.

While there are obviously gags and goofs that don't work - a lot of the critics don't seem to notice that the movies are satire. My favorite Lloyd Kaufman picture is probably The Battle of Love's Return from 1971 which I would say is very similar to the early works of Woody Allen and Harold Lloyd.

Troma movies are awesome. And they make no illusion of being anything that's supposed to be taken seriously.

Combat Shock was great.

I feel like it has more to do with how today video games are becoming more like moves than that part of the TMNT movie being too much like a game. Lots of games today have these cinematic cut scenes that are very much like movies.

Well, it made me watch the 2K3 series. So I will give credit for that.

Voices and the artwork's beautiful.

Again mentioned by everyone, the weakness is the story. Sure the Leo/Raph thing is the stuff of legends, and at least put to rest the "if these two fight who'll win" rhetoric but I wish Leo gets something out of this as much as Raph did. Leo came off pretentious and preachy and contradictory judging Nightwatcher when he does the same thing as the Ghost in the Jungle. Don and Mike felt like minor characters (and I am disappointed Donnie and Raph's brief aggression went nowhere), the movie injects Casey/April drama when they shouldn't and Karai/Winters/13 Monsters/Stone Generals felt like an afterthought and wasn't build on a solid foundation. A shame since they're supposed to drive the plot.

Still, I like the movie.

To be honest i saw the 07 movie this week the first time and i don't like it.

Several reasons.. Don't like the design of the turtles (the nick series have done that much better). Then i dislike the story .. At the end all gets much too fast also...theres no time for story growing.

And of course i hate the voice-job. I watched it in german and the voices are terrible. Here we have the german voice of heath ledger for leonardo... That sounds really akward.. And Raph sound even more ******, listen this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBHHPO6pKnE This is the voice of Raph in german... (the guy is doing the voice of roger in american dad in the german version)

I think the 07 movie was bad but as so many re-releases of the turtles it gave new impulse to the franchise.

I would have rather seen Shredder lead the Foot than Karai but I'd still say it was a good movie.

Still my favorite TMNT movie

I enjoy the first ( I was one of Shredder's kids in the warehouse) However I really didn't like Judith Hoag as April.

I love the '07 movie because it wasn't a rehash. It was an original story. I liked how it was a kind of " where they now?" types of story. Also I liked how The Foot was in it but not Shredder.

The score wasn't the best but it's my favorite TMNT movie. Too bad it never will get a sequel.

Do you also post on the IMDB board... I swear I've read that in the exact same syntax before?

I still think it's the best of the four movies that have been released in the cinema. It's the funniest, it's has the best action scenes and it's the only time in TMNT history that Leo and Raph's rivalry hasn't bored me. I've seen a lot of people saying they feel the characterisation of Leo is "off" but I feel that movie actually got to the heart of what is really going on between those two. I thought Leo's line "I'm better than you" was actually brilliant, not because I agree with him but because I love the directness of it.

On the other hand, Mike and Don were hardly in it and that sucks. Cutting those two deleted scenes was particularly unforgivable because they were the only scenes in the movie that focused on those two. The plot was a little over-convoluted - they should have had the monsters or the statues (not both) and I don't really see why April and Casey needed to be in it.

The turtles still look good, I mean the best they ever looked. I love it.

Pros:
- beautiful cgi
- Leo vs Raph scene. Bloody and teary.
- Karai - Her look. Her voice. Her movements. Pure elegance.
- some funny parts: "You still here? Back to your jungle"

Cons:
- cheesy 13 monster plot with alignment of planets ala Hercules. April retelling the story is just redundant and tiring.
- Raph being the main thing the camera focused on. Gimme more Donnie and Mikey scenes dammit. It's called TMNT for a reason, not Raphael Solo Turtle movie.
- ending looked rushed.
- Mikey's nunchakus barely seen in the whole movie.
- April kicking Karai's ass. Wth?
- Casey looked skinny average joe.
- boring "normal" life stories of the turtles at the beginning.

I'll tell you what the negatives were to this film (even though I enjoyed it): no Shredder, anorexic April, Patrick Stewart as a character that looks like Craig T. Nelson, the 13 monster plot, Mako as Splinter (thank goodness we have Hoon Lee now), and Mikey sneezing from the magic dust. Those weren't so good.

I still like the fight between Leo and Raph. I didn't mind who would win. Leo's my favorite, but Raph did teach him a lesson there. However, they were both wrong. Leo's only better than Raph temper wise. I don't think people always see that.

As a fan of the turtles ever since the Mirage comics, I have to say that (nostalgia for the first movie aside) this is not only the best, but probably my favourite movie of the franchise as well. It's much more faithful to their roots, I love the animation and design of the characters, and the voice acting is great.

Still, I think they should have pitched a reboot instead of a sequel. Fortunately it works as a standalone.
