The Potential of Tempestra

I'm curious as to why none of the newer franchises (Nick included, it seems) thought it worth wild to reinvent the OT's Tempestra. I think with the right character elements added or changed she could be a really interesting villain.

Instead of manifesting within an arcade game (although I could see that being pulled off somehow), why not have Tempestra emerge from one of the various alien realms involved throughout the TMNT franchise? Maybe she's some sort of cursed, elemental witch caught in a mix-up with Lord Simultaneous (etc.) or something.

I could see her working especially in the new Nick show. A creepy lady villain used by the Kraang (kind of like that robot, I forgot her name?) is nothing new for them...it could work.

Its because Playmates didn't make a toy of her, so her character is less known because of it. I notice any character from the original series that didn't get a toy seems, "forgotten" for some reason. Since the Playmates toys were so popular, the characters became just as known for their toys as their appearances in the show.

Tempestra is kind of similar to Viral from Fast Forward. Both are computerized enemies that can travel through electronics and disrupt electricity or power.

Nick remembered Pete the Pigeon, so I guess anything is possible!

The characters in Turtles IV were the most popular at the time:

- Bebop/Rocksteady
- Baxter
- Rat King
- Leatherhead
- Metalhead
- Slash
- Rahzar and Tokka
- Krang
- Shredder

I never liked Tempestra, so I don't care.

Even though I liked Tempestra in her classic toon appearance, I wouldn't care to see her brought back.

I don't see the need for an RPG Sorceress to be a Turtle rogue. Or was the game she came out of a hack and slash?

Looked like a platformer with RPG elements.

I think the reason Tempestra wasn't in the 4kids cartoon is because they wanted to make it more like Mirage and use less old toon characters.

It would be good for Tempestra to come back some time.

They didn't use characters created for the 1987 show/Archie Comics in other universes until IDW started in 2011, and the 2012 show (except some cameo-appearances). Times have changed, probably because Nickelodeon bought TMNT in 2009.

Despite an appearance in Night of the Rogues, Tempestra is still nothing more than a one-shot villain created for the OT involving a silly supernatural concept about coming out of a monitor that is based off of midcentury Sci-Fi plots. She was great for that one appearance, but without having a connection to Shredder/Krang or even Bebop/Rocksteady, Baxter, or other mutants Tempestra just doesn't belong as part of the family. At least I do enjoy that Tempestra was one of the few female villains in the series and provides a nice break from the generic mad scientists.

Its interesting to note how its never explained how Tempestra gets free of the computer ship the turtles trap her in at the end of her first appearance.

Was Metalhead really that popular? He only appeared in two episodes.

That's why I'm saying either IDW or Nick should reinvent her and make her tied to Dimension X, or something of that sort to connect her.

While she was cool, I doubt Nick would use her...she wasnt in the show enough and isnt well enough known.

Maybe they can use a reference, where they play a video game named "Tempestra's Revenge". That's enough.

I'd love to see her again, maybe the Kraang see leo playing a video game with Tempestra as the villian, and create a being in her likeness becasue she defeated leo in the game, and they think there will be a psycological advantage to throwing a real one at him?

IDW is the best version of TMNT

If they make a TMNT reboot movie retelling the shredder battle/origin, I won't buy a ticket.

The Nick show is still young so who knows.

I wouldn't mind seeing her again. The TMNT in general and the Nick show in particular need more villains that arn't anthropomorphic animals.

Although I wonder if she's a weird limbo character that could potentialy be owned by Fred Wolf.

If we're going to have either, I'd rather see Viral again.
