Boy, you are a squirrely one! You're the one who brings up that April meets Splinter in every incarnation as if that were reason enough to include it in this show. Then, when I comment on it, you act like I'm the one suggesting it... Anyway, you're right, it happening in the past is irrelevant, and you're the one who said it.

I'll just leave it at this. I don't necessarily think you're wrong when you say the show would benefit from including important introductions like April & Splinter. However, it didn't happen, and I don't think it ruins the show. Maybe they had to cut out scenes to make sure they didn't go over time, who knows. But since it's not the end of the world, I'd just say move on instead of bringing it up time and time again.

Well if the comic is in continuity with the show, perhaps they will show stuff the cartoon glossed over.

Anyone know if this series is going to start off with episode adaptions or is it all new stories from the first issue?

Where did we get confirmation of this being a 4 part series, and can I 'subscribe' to it at my LCS or is it too soon?

I think Bobby said so...

But I don't think it's officially out til June, so once the March solicits are out you can pre-order/subscribe to it.

I learned it from Dario when I bought one of his prints last month.

Did he specify the extent of his involvement? I looked closer and he's only listed as the cover artist, with writer/artist being "various".

He's very much the main artist. I asked if he'd drawn Shredder and he sent a sneak peek of his Nick Shredder; that's where I learned about it being an initial four-parter, which of course if sales suffice, it'll become an on-going.

Perhaps you're thinking of that TMNT Animated book, which is just screenshots of the first episode with word bubbles attached to it.
