Zombies and Turtles

With the new big thing being all about zombies and The Walking Dead (which is amazing! get watching if you haven't seen it) and the IDW Infestation cross overs lets start putting the two together. How do you guys think the TMNT would do in the zombie apocalypse? Which characters do you think would be the first to go?

I've yet to tire of zombies despite the constant deluge of zombies in all forms of media (heck even in romance movies now :p), it's because zombie stuff (when it's good) isn't so much about the zombies as it is about people surviving and all the politics that go with that. Those sort of stories are always interesting.

So yeah I'd like to see a "Marvel Zombies" type of "What If?" Story involving the TMNT ^__^ There are so many ways you could go with it.

In my version we'd see the turtles fall one-by-one and at the end we'd have don and april all alone in a corner, and april finally gives him the kiss of his life before they are devoured

Before you finish rolling your eyes, I'm joking

I would love to see a TMNT in a zombie infested New York. I can see Shredder dropping a bunch of zombies and mousers through the sewers to get the turtles. I have to say Casey Jones would be the first of the turtle clan to go. Probably getting over run while bashing the zombies with his baseball bats.

I think I would actually like that. A mix of TMNT and The Walking Dead(watching it right now

) seems like a cool idea. Having the turtles forced out of their lair and having to fight if zombies would be great. Be some good fan fiction for someone.

Far as first to go? I'd say April actually. Then Splinter depending on which version if him if was.

See I would say April too, BUT The turtles are so attached to April so I feel like that they would put her safety before themselves.

I remember an episode of the 1987 cartoon (but not the title) where the Turtles fight a bunch of reanimated statues? Akin to those found in China in 1966, I believe.

Zombies are hardly a new phenomenon, but for some reason The Walking Dead struck a chord with the mainstream. Zombies, vampires and werewolves have all been "things" for little over a decade.

Anyhoo, there was an isue of Tales Volume 2 set in an alternate dimension where Mike was a Wereturtle and Raph was skeleton-zombie.

I think that would be pretty awesome actually. If I ever do a fan comic it will be a zombie apacolypse senario.

Haha how did i never think of this scenario before this. i Love Turtles and i Love Zombies. For the classic cartoon Turtles, in my opinion one of the first to go would be Irma or Vernon. Once the horde got bigger Casey would fall because he always rushes in without thinking. The Turtles themselves should be fine enough, and being amphibious give them a huge advantage. If April survives then a Turtle might fall (Probably Mikey as his weapon is least effective against zombies, especially if its in the later seasons where all he has is a grappling hook) protecting her. Splinter is a wild card in the mix as i have no idea how well he would do.

For Shredder and Krang being that they live in a huge rolling fortress would be fine. Even when the Drome is stuck the environments its stuck in protect it from zombies in its own way (the earths core: no zombies can get there, arctic: freezes the undead in there place, ocean floor: pressure crushes zombies). If they were attack unawares the Foot soldiers being robots are immune to zombie bites. Shredders armour protects his extremities from bites making him "safer" and Krang in his Body would be alright because zombies might not recognize that the only living tissue is in his core. Plus if all that fails they have two huge Zombie fodder henchmen that would be two dumb to realize they are being used as bait for them to escape.

Alright thats my thoughts. Now i Have Thoughts of Zombie Rocksteady and Bebop. and Shredder drenched in Zombie Gore after he took them out. If only i had artistic skill those would be sweet sketches.

Wow now I have an image in my head of the Turtles backed into the corner of the lair while zombies are coming at them...

But anyway, I would love to see some sort of Zombieland-esque thing go on with them. Where New York is taken by some disease that turns people into zombies and Donatello had some sort of list of rules he lives by/ has his brothers live by....or maybe he's separated from the others and has to find them before its too late...I think that it's cool and could have potential

With all the mutagen and goings on, this is bound to happen. However the turtles will have to use guns and seeing how they are NINJA'S they should use any means necessary. I'm tired of Teenage Mutant Karate Turtles, I want them to put the NINJA in ninja.

Historical ninjas did use firearms and explosives as needed and when available.

I agree to an extent. If the Turtles were only looking out for themselves they would been perfectly fine. But they are always looking out everyone in the city, especially April. So if a Turtle Were to fall that would be the reason.

That or the Zombie horde surrounds Vinnie's Pizza Place

Yeah the Turtles have Chronic Hero Syndrome. If any of them fall it will be because they become overwhelmed with trying to defend innocent citizens while trying to fight off the zombies.

But in a pure combat situation with no one to defend but themselves Leo has the best chance for survival. His blades would be the most useful for dispatching Zombies. Don's staff could keep them at bay but I'm not sure it would have strength enough to crush skulls and destroy the brain which, according to the Zombie Survival Guide, is the only way to destroy a zombie. Not sure about Mikey. Nunchucks have the crushing power but I'm not sure how good they'd be at crowd control which is a neccesity when dealing with zombies. Raph is the one I'd be most worried about. Sais don't have that much reach which means he'd have to wade in there to deal with the zombies. This would increase the chance of getting bitten. Combine this with his aggressive nature and if anyone falls Raph would be the most likely.
