Fast Forward didn't "suck."

Well, I would say that is not true because this series is what introduced me to the TMNT.

Are you an idiot? Lemme rephrase that. You're an idiot. It's called having an opinion and agreeing to disagree. You might want to try it sometime.

This is my dream, to work quotes from the show into actual conversations. Nicely done.

This is coming from someone who is still butt-hurt that 4kids aired FF before Season 5?

We're not in 2005 anymore, you've had 7 years to get over it.

This is coming from the same guy who is insisting Krang is Kraang Prime. We're not in 1987 anymore, you've had 26 years to get over it.

I'm waiting until the episodes air to make final judgement.

You said Kraang Prime was Krang in a thread as soon as that behind the scenes aired due to gender alone.

There are a lot of similarities, especially since we also know the Technodrome is returning.

Spoiler tag Cubed

I can only see 2 One is that it is running
Spoiler:
the Technodrome.
Second is that it's pink. Personalities could be very different therefore not Krang from the eighties.

One day I was watching a rant on some of Nickelodeon's current shows on Youtube (I came across it while searching for people's reactions on the new show) and the guy in the video basically just blew TMNT to the side as a stupid and uninteresting show. Now I know what you're gonna say.."It's just his opinion, not everyone will like the show.." but after watching that, almost all the videos that did give positive reviews of the show were by TMNT fans..so I'm not trying to say anything like "Everyone should like the show" or "whoever doesn't watch this show is stupid"...what I'm asking is if we only enjoy the show because we're already fans of the franchise. Like, if TMNT never existed, and then this show came on, would we even like it? Maybe I'm just over analyzing this, but I want to hear your opinions.

I was initially skeptical and dislike the design before watching the show. Turns out I really like their direction and execution on this show very much.

Just because I'm a tmnt fan doesn't mean I'd like everything they throw at me. Next Mutation comes to mind.
Basically exactly what I was going to say to the original post.

I didn't care for 4kid's version (although after being here I'm slightly more interested in the first season or arc), I was never able to sit through the 3rd film or any Next Mutation episode.

So, as much as I love the TMNT, I dont just blindly enjoy anything with it's brand on it for the sake of the name and characters.

I was skeptical on the show, despite everyone here seemingly loving it.
But I saw 1 copy of the DVD at Walmart for $9.99 so I got it... and I was surprised it was really good!
It appeals to my old school Turtle love and feels like it's meant for us while still feeling like it's for the kids (such as always having a moral to the story, like when Donatello can't figure out how to not think and just flow in a fight). Some really good and actual life teachings from Splinter which often become the focus or point of the episode. I dig hearing actual wisdom from the show and makes me feel better about the younger fans and hopefully they take more from the show than just Mikey being funny lol
Splinter's philosophy matches actual life philosophy that are followed and practiced. Much of Splinter's teaching are echos of what my own instructors have taught me, what zen masters said to me, and what I have heard the like of Bruce Lee say in interviews and in his movies.
OT Splinter had a few moments and he'll always have a close place to me but the Nick Splinter is badass and i was originally not crazy on him based on the design.

Anyway, it's really well put together and that's why i'm enjoying it.

as someone who only occasionally watched the 2k3 series, the 2k12 series is what got me into the turtles. I didnt even watch it until the first season was already half way done, since i didnt care for the new look of the show. But once i watched it, i loved it, designs, voices, everything.

As ive mentioned of a couple threads before, the nick series has actually made me want to go back and watch the old series and movies and what not

The majority of the 4kids series was very good, the only problem is with a lack of proper DVDs people can't get into it.

I think that I mostly watch the Nickelodeon series just because I'm a TMNT fan. The only part of the show that I find that entertaining is "The Kraang". Heck, I for the most part only watched the original cartoon as a child just because I became a TMNT fan. I didn't even like the original cartoon until I saw the first movie in 1990.

I'm not butt-hurt over anything. I just feel that the reason I despised FF was that it aired in place of season 5 and that wasted the potential of a good story arc. If it had aired after that, I probably wouldn't have minded much. But you make it sound like I'm crying my eyes out over this, and I'm not. Get over yourself please.

So you basically admit the reason you don't like it was because it aired out of sequence? What does that have to do with NOW or the episodes on their own merits?

Fast forward was just not TMNT...and that's its major problem: It didn't resemble anything that would be associated with Ninja Turtles!

Even the very premise shows you those guys were completely out of ideas. Turtles in the future! Wow! They don't even do anything clever like a Turtles in Time adaptation or something, no they were just losing it.

TMNT 2012 completely captures everything that is right and fun with Turtles and Fast Forward does the exact opposite: getting rid of the focus for the main characters, in favour for terrible new ones.

And don't even get me started on Back to the Sewer.....

It was 24 episodes too long. Shoulda been a storyarc, not a whole seperate season... No reason why Renet didnt come to help them. When they came back, (Back to the Sewers) the more serious tone from before was already lost.

will you stop? if youve got that big of and issue with his dislike of fast forward, the private message button is right up there. this is like the 10th thread ive been on where youve caused an argument, you need to just relax and quit looking to start them.
