I agree with a lot of what has been said, but I also agree wholeheartedly with Zulithe's original post, and think that supplementing the moderation team with a few extra people would not be a bad idea in the least... I'm sure that if we did nominations and voted, that there are quite a few people who post regularly that we would agree would make good moderators.

People take this forum way too seriously. I enjoy any insults thrown my way, I do not take it seriously. What I do find amusing is how some of my posts can seemingly rile people up over the silliest of things.

& why wouldn't someone be a smartass in real life if that's their personality? You act as if people sit here talking about kicking eachothers asses.

For the last few years,i have noticed that people get real bold behind a computer screen for the simple fact they wont in real life... they call people of opposite races things they wouldnt dream of saying in real life, just read any facebook post about Obama or Trayvon Martin

That's not the Drome, though. This is an entirely different class of people, man. Youtube comment sections are a pit of human garbage no doubt, but things here are usually pretty civil.

There's nothing wrong here. I think too many people forget that you shouldn't take everything so seriously. It's the internet. People say sh!t. Ignore them. Do they have any influence over anything real in your life? No.

And seriously, if you have so little in the way of a real life that anything said to you on a message board destroys you.....you probably need to consider separating from social media and go out for real interaction for awhile.

More moderation would not solve the problem unfortunately. The drome is simply a microcosm of the real world. For some reason people feel the need/enjoy being mean to others. The solution involves change on an interpersonal level. More moderation might mask it, but then what effective change has really occurred?

Best bet might be to lead by example. Make sure each of your posts is positive. Think carefully about the way your post might come across. If correcting someone, try not to condescend. If disagreeing, be respectful. If informing, educate without haughtiness. Hopefully others will follow suit.

I'll give you that 'cubed. You just let things roll off your back.

Really CyberCubed? I find it a little hard to believe that you don't take things too seriously, when you feel compelled to post something like this about trolls.

Is it worth being so angry about that I demand immediate and permanent punishment be enforced?

I've had plenty of disagreements and VERY strong words with people on this forum. At the end of the day, even my most bitter enemies still offer up actual content for this board. I may not enjoy that content; that does not give me the right to shut them out completely. That brings me to another point.

There is an option to block people on this board. If someone is really upsetting you, block them. Pretend they don't exist. It's only a few button clicks.

The mods only hand down serious punishment to serious infractions. If someone called you a name, or mentioned their many sexual exploits involving various members of your family, that's not really going to get much attention.

A lot of power has been given to the common member of this forum. I suggest that you use it.
Yeah the ignore button makes this place a lot better.

Actually i really do find it funny how people freak out at you sometimes even when you've post a relevant comment to the discussion cause they think your being sarcastic.
