Man, looking back at TMNT #6, when the dying Savate says "War is coming...", what he REALLY should have said was, "War is coming... but no rush. You've still got, like, 20 issues before it happens."

That last page could be the best thing Santolouco has drawn in a Turtles book to date. Its so fierce and bold. When I turned the page I kinda jumped a little just at the sight of the transformations.

Didn't like that we didn't advance the plot at all and there was barely any action in it. Raphael's acknowledgement of why he was so angry was incredibly rushed, it was literally the next panel after Mike talks to him. The rivalry between Dark Leo and Karai is pointless, Kitsune was wasted in this issue and Victor parts were pretty dull surprisingly. April and Casey's kiss was once again rushed and the whole issue seemed a little lost in what direction it was going in.
Wow. I thought this issue was all plot advancement. Tons of new threads and questions starting to be answered. I figured Raph acknowledging his feelings was because Raph in IDW is less of a hothead than other versions.

The issue was great, there is a lot going on though, it makes me wish each issue was more than just 22 pages or whatever it is. Just makes the wait harder.

I hope we see Angel lock lips with Casey later on too.

Nothing more contrived and annoying than two girls fighting over one guy. That's all girls are for, right? Romantic tension?

Angel clearly cares for Casey, I wouldn't be surprised if she has a small hidden crush on him.

I was pretty surprised at the violence level in this issue. Unless I'm forgetting something, this was definitely more graphic than the previous ones.

... Not complaining, just commenting.

Art was great, and Eastman had some fantastic layouts.

The story frustrated me for it's Saturday morning cartoon moments. The Leo not killing thing was the most annoying. I liked that it made sense of his fight in the Karai micro, but other than that it's silly.

"No more" and "Rock N' Roll" were so cheesy.

I'm super excited for next month though. Splinter and Hob's mission should be cool. Splinter's my favorite character out of this whole series, easily.

I enjoyed that Mike snapped at Raph, he hasn't done much of anything for a while now other than crush on Trib. I really hope the 3 guys get more focus in the coming issues.

Agreed! But he's been the peacekeeper on multiple occasions, so this was nothing new (although it was badass since Raph is like twice his size lately). Hoping to see more development of him.

I agree. Mike calling out Raph was brilliant.

So Epic!

Spoiler:
Way back when in the Raph Micro Rocksteady and Beebop asked when will the gain the power/mutate. And Alopex responds when the master says so. I always thought/ assumed that was inferring shredder, but now I believe they were talking about Karia. The reason I bring this up is because I think the foot might split up into two waring factions.

It did seem like at the end of the issue Alopex was trying to make Karai doubt her place in the Foot Clan. But whereas Alopex wants to take down the Shredder and just leave the Foot as nothing, I think Karai wants the opposite; I think she may decide to rebel against the Shredder and take the Foot in the direction she sees most fit. And it seems like things may blow up in Shredder's face by the end of City Fall. So who knows? Either way, I'm excited to see. and it was so kick ass to see Bebop and Rocksteady!!! Can't wait to actually see them do something in their mutant form

It was actually a random Foot ninja, and his shadow was in the shape of Shredder.

It was also because shredder hadn't appeared yet. I think there was so much foreshadowing early on that it took two years to have it all manifest. I mean over a year into the series the turtles didn't even know Krang existed.

I don't think Karai has a problem with the direction Shredder's taking the Foot, I think she wants respect from him, and credit for steering the foot that way in the first place. I doubt any "Karai betrays Shredder" or "Karai teams with Alopex" type thing will happen. Some of the "mutiny" foreshadowing is likely a mislead, at least as far as Karai is concerned.

As for the rest of the issue, my favorite TMNT stories appeal to both the adult fan and the child fan in me, and
Spoiler:
the adult TMNT fan loved the gritty violence and the idea of death being a real consequence, while the kid TMNT fan loved seein' a mutant cat holdin' a big ol' gun. Also, Victor is pretty awesome and I hope he really sticks it to the Foot.

Casey's dad as Hun TOTALLY works and here's why:

judging by his back tat, i doubt he could be anyone else. excluding the glimpse of him at the hospital, we haven't seen him since splinter had a sai to his throat a pretty long while back. I'm sure that was a sobering moment for him. i don't know what the timeline would have been, but having your son walk out on you and almost losing your life in the same day would be something strong enough to have that kind of life changing effect.

look back at issue #1 page 21, Casey's dad's arms were huge! yeah he had a little pot belly, but if 1-3 months have elapsed, big daddy Jones could have easily gotten back into great shape. then he goes to the hospital looking to visit and make amends (i'm assuming he's sober at this point) and hears how crappy he's been...that pain turns into more/new motivation.

the more i think about it, this is totally plausible. especially since Casey and angel are old friends, their dads were probably founding member of the PD's or something. several little hints were dropped all through the series, so this unveiling isn't rushed or out of thin air at all - just well panned. i like it. it's got me pumped!

I did like the last panel though... But then again, who couldn't?

Been Loving City Fall but this issue did NOT live up to the greatness of past chapters.

(5.0/10) for 'City Fall: Part 4' Hopefully next month's will be better...

wow, really? i feel the opposite as everything you've just stated. some issues are back story, some are action, and some are progression. this issue had a little of everything and none of it felt rushed to me.

Incorrect. We saw him getting wasted at Skara Brae in #22. He hasn't changed.

And the tattoo argument is insane. Most gang members have matching tattoos.

And lastly, I just compared Mr. Jones as rendered by Henderson in the Casey micro to Hun on the RI cover to his micro and they really don't look alike.

Hun probably just gets busted out of jail or something.

Hun gets out of jail. Tries to get the old dragons back together. Casey's dad tries to go straight because the incident at the hospital, which Casey finds out about. Hun kills Caseys dad for turning his back on the dragons sparking his animosity with Casey.

looking at the designs the only similarities between the two are eyes. Santolouco draws eyes in a very unique way so they stand out.
