TMNT #25 Preview/Discussion - Page 7

You know what bothers me a little about the art? Mateus does not know how to draw sais. Other than that... this issue was pretty strong and now I just cant wait for the next issue. A lot of answers and even more questions in the issue. Loving this arc so far. I feel that Michelangelo finally exploding was inevitable. He's held down so much tension since the series started and you can somewhat feel the tension building.

Yeah, he draws them like a three pronged dagger, it's annoyed me as well honestly.

the resemblance is there... and the eyebrows are of the same color. this can only mean his natural hair color is darker than the blonde on his head. so it is possible that casey's dad is hun. no doubt... the resemblance is too uncanny.

i wish the Karai issue artist would do the whole series, regular turtles design bugs me to no end, they look like Nick turtles with weird snouts and big heads...

Just one more question... How bout IDW writers saying at the SDCC panel, that Hun's first appearence is #25? A mistake?

Btw, those who said a couple of months ago that this is City at War adaptation, or a nod to City at War... Do you still feel the same way?

no mistake at all. the revelation of Casey's father being Hun (seeing his tattoo when he rips off his shirt) would mark the official "first appearance" of the now known character.

That's an art by a totally different artist, Andy Kuhn. And yes, his dad's look is inconsistent with how he looks by other pencilers, and he has actually smaller arms drawn then Casey.
...or April.

What is that's young Hun? From a flashback? Most of these micros have flashbacks to when the characters were younger. Also.... what if Hun IS Casey's Dad's brother?

Here are my thoughts on the issue. Took a while but this Labor Day weekend has been full of a lot of booze and sight-seeing.

My main thoughts were with how awesome it looked to see Mikey tell Raph off and anxious to see the first throwdown between the Turtles and Bebop and Rocksteady.

I fail to see any grammar issues or 'writing like a kid'. Unless I'm missing something, please point it out to me. He's talking like normal people talk. Not everyone talks like those so-called teens on Dawson's Creek. I mean... people skip out the g on some words, and people do use the word 'wanna'. Hell, I use it all the time.

ok, but if you compare the Petersen Rapahel Micro cover, a drawing of Rapahel by Andy Kuhn, and a Raphael by Mateus Santolouco, they will look equally different as the examples of Hun you've just posted. the ONLY difference is that Raphael is specifically named, has sais, and a red mask in each of those references and Hun was only implied.

i agree with those that have stated the cover for Hun's Micro is probably just a flashback prospective. or maybe it's as simple as a different artist's point of view.

to be honest, i have never been fond of the Hun character, but i love how they spun him in this series. imo, this is even better than the fugitoid plot!

Remember when the ninja with a scar on his eye from the Leo micro wasn't shredder? Or when hob was totally gonna come back as verminator x? Or how about Alopex being the reincarnation of Kitsune?

There's a lot of good discussion on this page but too much over thinking combined with wishful thinking leads to weird ideas. I mean, based on how their faces look when drawn by santolouco I'd swear Casey and Victor were brothers.

I don't feel like overthinking it, reading that page my first impression was, "woah, Hun's back!", and I was actually suprised how many of you felt someway else.

I think "Me and Donnie" is the culprit. But I figured it was intentional.

A LOT of people talk like that though, and I mean everyone, not just kids or teenagers. People don't usually write how they talk, and remember, even though we're reading the comic bubble, it's based on what the character is actually saying out loud.

Sure, when I'm writing, I'd easily type out 'Paige and I' or 'Paige and me' because I know that's proper grammar, but in regular conversation, it's very easy to slip and say 'me and Paige' instead.

Idw may have been wrong. They said Bebop and Rocksteadys first appearance would be in their micro. Maybe they confused the two at the time. My first impression was "woah, Casey's dad is a purple Dragon" and that's really all that the tattoo indicates.
