We never said Bebop and Rocksteady's first appearance would be in their micro.

"The IDW debut of these powerful villains has arrived!"

The solicitation says debut...

Fair enough, I stand corrected. It's mincing words, but I believe the use of the word 'debut' there was in the sense of first time we see them doing anything of note or for an extended period.

Regardless, obviously it's not their first appearance.

It's the "All I seen..."

If he's Hun, then it'll be a very interesting departure from what was established in Tales during the Mirage days. Hopefully we see some references to that material within, though, as a lot of us loved it and were ready for more.

If they do show flashbacks with a younger Hun, it might be similar to what we saw in Mirage.

Nine days. Maybe seven if the the preview tells us anything. Hun is one my favorite characters, I hope you guys don't mess him up...the whole Casey's dad possibly being Hun thing makes me worry about the character. I only say its possible cause Tom and Bobby haven't debunked it yet and they did say #25 would be his first appearance. Other than that it seems unlikely.

I can't understand why Casey's Dad would become Hun, for the following reasons:

1. The body types don't match up. Casey's Dad is a drunken slob with a beer gut and is totally out of shape. Hun is a muscle-bound, well-toned and fit man who looks like he's been working out for his entire life. Even ignoring the blonde hair, how can someone change their body that much in a short amount of time? Even using comic book logic it would be poor writing.

2. Casey's Dad is a bad father, but I never saw him as a true villain. Isn't Hun supposed to be a master criminal? Why would Casey's Dad go from drinking himself silly to become a criminal/killer? We even saw him check on Casey in the hospital bed feeling sorry for him.

By using a different artist interpretation.

I think it will be like "going back to his old ways" to him, like when he had the purple dragons, they ruled the place, and people were afraid to **** with them. So his intention will be to clean up the hood, or something like that. I guessing at the end of the arc he will end up working for Shredder.
That's a theory, of course, but seriously, if I can come up with some explanation as a non-writer, good writers like Tom will be able to do much-much more, trust me.

Okay, the better thing to do would be to comapre the tatoos side by side.

And Bobby, if the point was to have that panel be the big the big reveal that 'OMG Hun is Casey's dad', then the art differences made it a bit too ambiguious. Not saying it wan't an awesome issue though.

IDW is the best version of TMNT

If they make a TMNT reboot movie retelling the shredder battle/origin, I won't buy a ticket.

Tazi. Santolouco draws him as a drunken slob, it doesn't matter how Dan Duncan draws him cause he's not drawing Hun in the ongoing.

Also why does he dye his hair blonde? Did he wake up one day and say, "I want to be blonde now?"

You can't see his gut in the last panel, its really not inconsistent.

Anyways. I'm wondering if we're gonna get to learn more about the other organized crime bosses that Victor was meetingwith. Like that Asian chick in the white seemed interesting.

I was the first to question why Casey's dad was on the cover of #27 with blonde hair as it did not look like Hun from early episodes of the 2003 cartoon. While his phyisque has changed it is plausible. Its like a this version only twist to bring forth characterization and relationships that otherwise would not have been. Its like Splinter being the biological father of Karai the step daughter of Shredder in the Nicktoon. Hun bored me in the '03 toon while this could be interesting. No direct rivalry but a different kind of animosity and prehaps redeemtive figure.Villians that are not that bad aside from Shredder and Krang seems to be a theme with IDW.

I finally got around to reading this today. I thought Hun had the ability to punch a hole through the street, I don't see Arnie Jones being able to do that.
