Did the 2012 succeed more than the 2K3 cause it gave fans 'what they wanted?'

How boring and predictable we've all become.

"2K3 sucks, it was boring."
"2K3 was great! It was more serious than the old or new show!"
"It tried to be too serious. It failed miserably."
"Things don't HAVE to be goofy to be good! Mikey's a retard on the new show!"
"Casey was a retard in 2K3."
"2K3 was more like Mirage, so it was better."
"2K3 screwed up all the Mirage stories it tried to copy, so it sucked."
"The Nick villains are all just stupid 'Freak-Of-The-Week' characters made to sell toys!"
"The 2K3 villains were so bland and boring they didn't even deserve toys."
"Some of the 2K3 villains were much, much better than any of the Nick ones!"
"2K3 turned Shredder, the main villain, into a cyborg hybrid with Sorta-Krang, which was awful."
"It was creative and different!"
"It completely ruined the Oroku Saki character and turned him into a one-note super-villain."
"Whatever, you're just biased because the Nick show borrows from the OT."
"At least people remember the OT. Nobody watched 2K3 and nobody remembers it."
"That's not true! Lots of people watched it and a lot of people still like it, it just wasn't advertised as much as the new show."

I know it's going to come up repeatedly, but c'mon, can we wait 6 months or so in between? It's a dead-end with neither side willing to budge an inch.
