This was a weird episode for me. I did find it weird that a cartoon on Nick would allow a squirrel to be shown going down two different character's mouths. Followed by them being spit back out with two squirrels each after the up-chuck. Pretty extreme for a kids show.

I liked the Muck Man poster in Mikey's room. I liked the Alien references to the Squirrelanoids. I thought their design on the head looked the most like the version from Aliens. The way they moved on the ceiling and in other ways felt very Alien-like. Very good attention to detail there. And I loved Mikey saying the "Game over man!" line referencing the line from Aliens. Very cool. A nice horror feel to the episode overall.

A very subtle Alien reference right from the get-go:

Spoiler:
Jonesy is Ripley's cat from Alien.

Weirdest TMNT Episode I've ever seen! So I guess it works perfectly as a Halloween Special.

As a standalone episode however, it was pretty mediocre. You can tell the writers are having fun with it but it should translate well into the audience and for me, I haven't laughed once since Season 2 begun and that's been my major disappointment. Mike had some good moments but no real developments were made.

There are three things I always look forward to in terms of filler episodes:

1. Humorous writing that contains laugh out loud moments! (I.e. Metalhead, ITHNIBS)
2. Badass action scenes. (I.e. I, Monster)
2. Developments of the characters. (Turtle Temper)

I got NONE of that in this episode... but the Alien references, cool atmosphere and energetic animation does make it a little more enjoyable.

(6.2/10) for "Invasion of the Squirrelanoids" - Oh and for the love of Splinter, please stop with the Fart jokes.....

As someone who loved the first Alien films, this was great!

Now this was a Halloween episode. I must say, it was better than "Parasitica." Mikey proved himself now, and I think that part was written well for the plot. See, guys? I told you he wasn't that stupid. Sure, he can be stupid sometimes, but like he said, "Not everyone can be the brains of the outfit." It was good to see him use his without thinking too hard. Plus, his line was hilarious: "Game over, man! Game over!" To anybody who knows the Alien films, they'll get that. I couldn't help but picture Bill Paxton saying that line, whining over defeat.

But, man. Splinter kicks more butt than the turtles, . . . but stays in the lair. Either he doesn't like the surface, or it's because the show tends to focus on the turtles.

And, yes. The fart sounds better not be in the next episode. That I'm finding very annoying. Also, I was wondering when Leo and Raph were going to stab the heck out of those creatures. What's the point of using bladed weapons if you weren't going to cut any aliens to size. However, you can't hate the episode for that. The story itself was strong, and it paid a good homage to Alien and Aliens. Was I the only one who thought that Mikey going down the drain was like Newt being sucked into space. I thought Raph would be playing the Ripley role.

And just to add - I liked seeing them split-up into teams. We got to see more of Leo and Don bonding, along with Raph and Mikey not fighting. Thank goodness.

And to anyone who didn't understand why Raph and the hobo barfed the squirrels - well, let's just say it's not squirrels bursting out of your chest. Watch the Alien films if you haven't. The first two are the best.

wait a minute, newt being sucked into space?!?!when did THAT ever happen?..although I really like aliens and have seen it a zyllion times I dont recall that...
right from the top of my head I only related the homages to alien...hmm, for example the obvious one in the scene when the squirrelanoid hangs from the ceiling and grabs donatello.the two squirrels on their ultra sound picture(how on earth did donatello pull THAT one off when he uses two paper cups connected by a string?!?!?!?...)
...um, the little mouth comming out of the mouths of the s....and lastly when mike flushes them down(his comic even directly-like in the end of alien- flushed the being out of the airlock) in the sewers....even when the squirrelanoid returns and wants to grab mike the shot of the squirrelanoid being shot at and falling back reminds me of the scene in the movie....
but where were the aliens homages?

Yeah, in Aliens, as Ripley is on the Power Loader fighting the Alien Queen. Newt was about to be sucked into space, but Bishop grabs her. Ripley is mostly the one holding onto to her life after the alien is pulled away. You're right. I just knew Newt wasn't taken into space, but I knew she was about to be.

Anyway, I didn't notice this (mostly because of the bad quality of the YouTube video), but did any of you guys see the scene where Leo and Raph fist pump?

I love it how almost everything that happened in this episode happened in Mikey’s comic books! Speaking of comic book, wouldn’t it be cool if we saw Mikey dress up as Turtle Titan in this cartoon?

Anyways, I really don’t understand why splinter would send his son out after the squirlnoids, I mean he saw how dangerous they were, not to mention that he was pretty much the only one that could fight them. Not to mention him staying in the Lair the whole time. What a jerk! I probably wouldn’t mind it if this happened before least season’s finale because it seemed like Splinter really changed and took what April said to heart but apparently not. The least he could have done was go with the Turtles to help them.

Glad black nerd notices the problem with the empty cityscape as well. There's been some improvements since early in season 1 but it still bothers me.

Black Nerd is awesome.

Anyway, I'm viewing the episode again and I just.. love it. Yeah, I love it. I kinda wish the gruesomeness to be overboard, like maybe the squirrels bursting out of the stomach or something, but hey this is Nick. I respect that they even allow those types of horrifying scenes the green light. I'm glad they don't strictly make this show too kiddie safe.

Those moments when the squirrel scurry into the homeless guy and Raph's mouth, it was amazing. When they're about to chainsaw Raph's stomach wide open, I was on the edge of my seat - even for a few seconds of thrill. And that scene where Mikey struggled in the sinking whirlpool, it was intense.

This might be my most fave episode to date.

Hey everyone, just saw the episode and it was decent.

One of the main issues for me was the alien references. I feel the references kind of dragged down the episode. I get that this was maybe a Halloween episode, but the alien issues kind of held back the things that make the turltes enjoyable.

Also the squirrels being puked up by hosts was kind of disturbing. I know something similar(bursting out of stomachs) happened to people in the movies, but I personally was never a huge fan of the alien movies.

So it was an okay episode. I liked Mikey in this, and the comic book moments. One other little issue is Leo and Raph pulling their weapons out and not using them on the mutant squirrels. They could have at least defended themselves with the weapons more. I don't see the point of having sharp weapons out while dealing with dangerous mutants, if they are not going to use them. I realize this show is aimed at kids but, it still is a minor annoyance.

people either love this episode or thought it was decent

I hear some people saying that want to know what happened to April, but I'm like take your time Nick...I'm in no rush to see depressed/jealous Donnie.

but I do wanna see Casey.....T^T

One of the best episodes so far. As Alien and Aliens are some of the best movies ever made I got a huge kick out of TMNT yet again referencing them. An original series episode did this as well, but I can't remember the name of it. Are people really that offended they showed squirrels being puked up? Come on people have a little backbone.

This is the episode that FINALLY got Mikey right. If they can keep him like this from now on I'll be a happy camper. Loved his room and loved The CHUD poster on his wall. Another cool horror movie reference.
