It sucks though yah know? If a new show, even if good and they don't have as high as ratings as that sponge they get axed

Will Nick learn from this? It'd be great if they did but I'm not expecting them to

I'm also happy the show has done so well. I admit, I was a bit leery about Nick buying the franchise, but it's paid off and has done well, so good for them. Definitely hope there's more seasons to come.

Nick ran both Rugrats and Spongebob for years.

TMNT will last a long time.

I'm so happy the TMNT is doing really well. Hopefully we get some new seasons, as the new cartoon is really good.

I'm pretty sure we're getting more than 3 seasons. I'll be happy with 5 but wouldn't oppose 6-7.

Anything less than 7 seasons would be a failure in my eyes. The show better at least make 150 episodes.

No TMNT cartoon has made less than 150 episodes.

And that was just a one-off special, it was never a series.

IT BURNS! IT BURNNNNNNNNNNSS!!

Anyway, if TMNT gains as much audience as it did in its first season, hopefully that goddamn sponge... thing... can be trumped over for good. Realistically, Nick probably won't cancel Spongebob anytime soon (even though it's about damn time. That show died about 6 years ago), but if they can get some of their other shows some good audience as well, it could happen. (More like I'm talking about Spongebob than TMNT, I just have a grudge for Spongebob ). Point is, this TMNT has the potential to be the most popular show on Nick (hell, we already know it's the best).

I'd love to see shows with great writing such as TMNT 2012 last for several seasons. It seems like cartoons with a bunch of random Family Guyish jokes are the norm these days and that shows with an actual storyline and great writing are canceled in no time. I'm really surprised and happy that this show is doing so well.

As bad as SpongeBob has become over the past couple years, it's still the highest rated show weekly on Nick, so it will never get canned...ever.

It would be the equivalent of the NFL canning Monday Night Football, will never happen.

That's the entire point. It was a parody of other Japanese TV shows.

I don't. At least not in the sense that I assume you mean.

I vividly remember the argument being made that the sale to Nickleodeon was a good thing in the sense that it would ensure a steady stream of merchendise and cartoons and a strong mass media/market presence a big company like them could provide.

The questionmark was on the quality of the above things and whether it would appeal to established fans instead of exclusively being something for the new generation of money makers. Even then I think Nick did a good job in easing those concerns fairly early on. The only truly iffy thing is the movie.

I wish we could get a 3.1 for a regular episode again.
