This takes me to my new biggest purchase for any single TMNT item: $1048

http://www.ebay.com/itm/380817393677...84.m1439.l2649

That said, since it mentioned "hundreds" of drawings, there is opportunity to keep some, sell and make some money, especially as the movie approaches and the 30th anniversary allows for nostalgia. Note that the package shows Chinese characters and appeared to be mailed directly from the animation studio. The seller claimed that this was purchased from a storage auction, so its possible it could have been from a staff member at MWS Inc. Definitely looking forward to what I'm going to find. I'm especially excited about finding the particular scene. Quite honestly, I've never seen a large lot of cels from a single TV show/animated short/movie ever, so I take this as an adventure toward geeking out on my all time favorite cartoon show.

I won a large lot of cels on Ebay in the late '90s or early 2000s. It was like 60-70 cels for about $50. The cels I received were mostly Zach, Irma and Rat King all in the same sequences. But there were also some cool ones of Shredder vs. Splinter, April as a Catwoman, a Neutrino and a Genghis Frog. Few Turtles if any. Good luck.

Nabbing a Neutrino & Genghis shot sounds pretty rad! I got quite the cel steal myself at NYCC in 2013. I'm pretty sure it's from season one, as I don't recall these outfits being used more than once. Even if I'm mistaken somehow, I always dug these look for the turtles, so having a shot of one swagged out for a mere ten bucks is a win either way.

Nice cel..I think they wore those outfits also in "Usagi Yojimbo" in season 3. Could be from there too.

Just a heads up for anyone in the market for a #1 first printing. This auction has the front cover image of a 3rd printing (pinkish hues throughout & extra blood splatter in the second "T") so be careful. Either the seller is trying to pull a fast one (by bleaching the print number off the inside cover), or has a frankenbook.

I'd rather buy those cold cast statues for 10K...they were actually priced for 6500 and then the seller ended & relisted them.

There is also a dumb a$$ on ebay who has listed, cancelled, and relisted a Donatello statue a dozen times. I think is the same moron that was shill bidding his own statue over the summer. He never ended up selling to my knowledge and got a bunch of negative feedbacks because of it. Did the same thing with a bunch of TMNT related merch again resulting in negatives. Just when you thought people couldn't get any dumber

Not sure about the price on these, but pretty cool foreign toy catalog.

Maybe I'm ignorant to the whole idea but old toy catalogs always seem to fetch high prices. Any reason why?

I'm no expert either, but most likely due to the fact that most dealers probably threw these away after they placed an order with playmates.

There's a guy that's been jerking me around on some Ghostbusters stuff like that too. I will make him an offer and he just won't reply to it in a timely manner and that screws you out of being able to buy other stuff. Then he will take it completely off ebay and then just put it back for a higher price. His name is amazingheroes or something like that. I don't know what a guy's gotta do to get a decent ecto 1 these days. LOL.

I think that's a classic example of the "bleached" third printing. I've heard about it before but never saw one. It would be interesting to see the inside back cover. I bet it's an ad for iron-ons and not Gobbledygook. I don't think the seller is a scammer, probably just naive about it. I see the listing is ended now.

I was VERY close to offering on this but I couldnt swing a big purchase right now. I might be interested in some of the cels if you're willing to sell once you have them cataloged. Either way definitely post pictures - I'm anxious to see what the seller didnt show. Congrats!

They were never available to the public. They were produced in limited numbers. They give you great photos of all the toys produced in a year as well as quite a few things that never went into production. I have all of the US Playmates catalogs from 1988 through 1998. They are a great source of information.

Yep someone probably called him on the back inside cover resulting in the cancellation of the auction.

You can tell that's exactly what it is because of the Sharon, CT address. Printings 1 & 2 were Dover, NH.
