Lots of love

For IDW I'm surprised a little.

Gotta be the OT Shredder for me. When Bebop, Rocksteady and him get together it's always made me laugh

My favourite shredder is the utrom Shredder from the 2003 series.

1984 (Comics) -He was barely in the comics, but he was menacing and developed.

1987 - This was the most fun and entertaining iteration of the character to watch.

1990 (Movie) - Shredder was intimidating amd well acted, that was until he went full on psycho in the sequel.

1997 (Next Mutation) - Easily my lesst favorite iteration of the character. He was too hammy, too over-the-top, and got defeated in an unsatisfying, undignifying way.

2003 - Easily my favorite version of the character. He's menacing, Had a somewhat interesting back story, and at time was kinda humorous.

Idw Comics - I like him, he's a decent villain, but I like 2003 more.

2012 - I kinda like him, my only problem is that he's a bit on the bland side. I mean, he's the main villain, and he's barely appeared in the show at all. He barely does anything except for berating his henchmen and exchanging empty threats which he almost never follows through with.

Yeah, I wish 2012 Shredder did more in the show. That's one thing I've noticed since the show began, barely any screen time at all. I think he's menacing and all, but would love to get to know him a little better as a character. More fight scenes with him would be nice.

Don't much care for Next Mutation Shredder either. Never really found him all that believable. The voice certainly wasn't menacing at all. Love how he was portrayed in 2k3. I liked movie Shredder better in the first film. He wasn't bad in the sequel but there was just something about the way he was portrayed in the first.

You have to consider

That in the next mutation the shredder really never had a chance to be menacining. I believe if they had made a second season and he appeared again he'd be menacing

No chance. He did show up once after having been defeated, later in season 1, and he was just a weak homeless dude. But more than anything, it was that terrible costume that turned fans against him.

You see I completely disagree with everything you've said here. He doesn't have to do much to be a menacing badass. I don't want him to have 10 different fights with the Turtles, since he almost killed em all in one fell swoop. Why should he get his hands dirty if he got his goons to do his bidding? That makes him all the more menacing, he doesn't need to do much to scare the crap out of not only the turtles, but his own men.
Hell even in the movie his line "There will be no mistake. This time I go myself..."
Let's you know he's done playing and is gonna get $h*t done.

Besides, to me, the one 2012 fight was the most memorable TMNT vs Shredder fights I've ever seen(excluding tmnt#1 Vol1). Better than any of the 2k3 TMNT vs Shredder fights combined (and they were good!). Sometimes less is more. It'll make their eventual re-match all the more special.

You saying it better than the battle in ninja tribunal? That's just plain insane.

Im a fan of the Shredder from the original comics. however, the shredder from the first movie, 2k3, and the current are right up there in regards to ruthless awesomeness.

Mirage Shredder would probably be my favorite. Sure, he doesn't appear that often, but when he does, he really makes an impact. Next would be Utrom Shredder. While he has his haters, I feel this Shredder was a really awesome, menacing villain.

Movie Shredder gets an honorable mention from me, but it has to be the Utrom Shredder. Ignoring the fact that he was a foot tall alien, his design, voice, and characterization as Oroku Saki/Shredder was just so kick ass and menacing. Especially the Lex Luthor vibe he was getting around season 3, it really added another dimension to his character.

I'd have to say either the first movie version or the idw or nicks current version... IMO def the most dangerous... I like how in the current versions he's basically there every week/month but they havnt shown him taking too many defeats... Maybe the strongest writing ever for the character

I would have to go with Shredder from the first movie because he has realistic goals. He doesn't want to take over the world, he just wants corrupt the wayward youth of New York and accumulate wealth and power. He is also quite imposing both while fighting the turtles as well as when interacting with the foot/gang. I dunno though, it is quite possibly because I watched this movie non stop as a kid, and he is imprinted on me as Shredder.
