Official Episode Discussion: S2 #8 "The Good, The Bad, and Casey Jones"

It bothered me how good a fighter Casey is, taking out foot ninja robots left and right but I still enjoyed the episode and it made me like the new Casey more too.
I'm disappointed that the foot robots are here to stay. I never liked that in the old show. When a leader can only command mindless robots it makes them seem a weak leader.
Hope Irma won't be to prominent in the show. To many humans gets boring, especially if she is as annoying and pointless as in the old show.

I never thought I'd say this but April really is starting to annoy me... It really does seem like she's turning into a Mary Sue in this series... The only explanation I can come up with about her mental powers is that she can somehow detect Kraang technology in her mind but the mystery really needs either solved or at least explained a bit... can't wait till the next episode!!!

I loved this episode and it very well could be my favorite so far as I don't recall being that pleased after an episode from the new series! The resemblance of Mirage and Movie 1 had me smiling like a kid on Christmas. I also disagree to an extent about Casey being a great fighter already. Raphael had a chance to polish him off with his sai but stopped. Also, as Powder said, Raphael isn't at his best when he completely loses his temper. Maybe it would have been better to see Casey get beat up a bit and fail as a crime fighter but let's face it, 22 minute episodes can only show so much.

She has active electrolocation. People can sense non-living objects by generating electric fields and detecting distortions in these fields using electroreceptor organs.

I know many are probably wondering why Raph still has a temper even after he supposedly learned his lesson in "Turtle Temper." The thing is, flaws are always going to be there no matter what. I have a temper myself and though I often try to control it, sometimes it still pops up. Same goes with Raph. His temper and anger will always be there, and I agree that it probably has to do with not having Spike to confide in anymore and that he's on his own.

I've never read the comics, but I agree that having Casey's sister be Shadow would be cool. I'd rather have Angel be a separate character. I'm making Angel Xever's sister in one of my stories because I just thought that would be cool.

I have absolutely no problem with Raph not learning the lesson right away. I think it's great that the show takes its time. I also like that Raph talks to himself like that, it reveals a bit more about why he is losing his temper all the time. Guess that Spike listened to a lot of angry **** over the years

I wonder how slash will react whenever he sees raph and Casey. Their little kick-butt duo team up at the end was exactly the kind of team that slash wanted with raph. First he's gonna blame raph for letting him fall off the roof and then he's gonna be pissed that he was replaced by some kid.

Across the universes, this has been a constant. His anger clouds his judgement, slows him down, strips him of his focus, etc. Maybe we'll see him whip Casey's butt in a future episode (over taking issue with Donnie, perhaps?).

true, i forgot about that.. that episode where the bro's were insulting him and he couldn't even dodge the arrows.

The main thing is even at his worst you still have to be a presto awesome fighter to dodge all of Raph's attacks and prevent from being mauled. But then again Casey showed himself capable of taking down robot foot ninjas.

My thoughts exactly. We're certainly getting character development but I'm thinking it's going to take its time which is fine by me. SOmetimes, lessons don't sink in as fast as our mentors would like and I'm wondering if the writers decided to explore that a little. Also liking where Coola Yagami's going pertaining to Slash. I'd love to see his reaction. Thinking we undoubtedly will soon enough.

Did anyone notice how surprised Raph was when he hit Casey into the dumpster and Casey got right back up? When Casey got up so fast, Raph looked so shocked and scared.

Like Splinter being frustrated? He seemed to be, after Raph punched Leo in the beginning of the episode. It would be interesting if they explored that more.

And yes, Slash's reaction to Casey! A Raph/Casey vs. Slash fight would be pretty sweet

Exactly. Splinter's like every other parent who keeps having to repeat him/herself. I liked that bit. And oh yeah, totally with ya there regarding the Raph and Casey vs Slash fight. Oh I bet we're getting one of those sooner or later. Well it's a pretty safe bet, I think.

A really, really fantastic episode.
I think the animators worked over time with this ep.
Especially the scene with Casey on the roof overlooking the hustle and bustle ready for a night on patrol.
Also the foot set piece battle was phenomenal.

I guess we're not going to see any more human foot now.
The old plot device of making the henchmen robots so we can see some real damage being rolled out, but it makes sense - Whats the point in having weapons if you can't use them.

I missed that part of the show thanks for clearing it up Still is a little much for me but at least it makes sense now!!!

I finally watched this episode and I gotta say, I was really impressed! There were many nods to the Mirage comics, the 2k3 series, and the first film. That part where Donnie called Raph a baby while he was sitting next to Mikey and Raph threw something at them was just like in the first movie. And I love that drawing that Casey did of the Mirage counterparts of him and Raph. I thought that was really cute. And finally, Irma appeared in this episode. I was worried that it was going to be another cameo appearance but she actually made a full debut. And she talked! We don't know much about her in this show but I already like her more than her OT version of whom I found incredibly annoying. The biggest change for me was Raph losing his temper and this time Leo was his target instead of Mike. The way how it was done though was really fitting, though.

The only minor nitpick I had was Casey's fear of rats. Not a huge deal but hopefully Splinter can help him conquer his fear. Otherwise, great episode.

Casey's fighting abilitys are impressive for a kid. Raph still did a number on his face.

Casey was very impressive, I let out a yell or excitement before I could help myself. Because Casey was swinging that bat and hockey stick like a ninja or samurai master. All I could see were blurs....I really was surprised. Yeah, Raph wanted to impale his face for a second too. Wow.

He also took out a bunch of Purple Dragons which while I know are not the best fighters I don't think Casey would have the skills to take them like that.

Maybe derpril isn't a clone at all... it's a failed 'version' of her the Kraang made before they made April herself, a perfected version of... whatever it is they were working on.
