Lotus vs Karai the debate

Lotus was introduced in the regular cartoon before Karai was in the comics or any of the following shows. Do you believe lotus was Karai in essence in the original cartoon or in a way a tester for her, to see how a female ninja figure could fit into the franchise. For the most part I think she had positive feedback for her limited role. I would have liked to see more of her. I do believe they are their own entities. And rightfully so because either way they are literally different people but discuss.

She would've fit in well in the Red Sky seasons for sure if thy had kept her on, good or evil. She was a less talk, more action type of person and worked like a female Casey Jones, so to speak. It's really too bad she was only used twice.

That's for sure. I could See her teaming up with the turtles for a semi permanent stay. About a season or multiple times on an off throughout.

Considering they are actually different people yes you can. That seems very shovanistic and sexist of you.

...hmmmm Karai, Lotus.....they both kinda seem the same to me.

whenever I see Lotus I think "oh! a different version of Karai."

IDK there doesn't seem alot to set them apart from what I've seen, so I don't mind if they become/or became one.

they are both japanese female ninja
they both befriend Leo or connect with him....
they are both with the foot clan.....(right?)

so yea

Pimiko seems kinda different....except the whole Shredder's daughter thing XD (I don't know alot about her.)

They are very different characters, the biggest one is one is a member of the Foot and the other is a freelancer.

I almost wrote my first post with a "-- TMNT fans" at the end, but I had faith in the ability of posters here to understand basic sarcasm, which, I don't even know why I thought that would be a thing at this point.

I personally don't think so.
They have common traits, yes, but they are quite clearly different characters.
They have different back stories and personalities that support this. However, if one really wants to push this whole Lotus was the template for Karai concept, just ask Pete over at his blog. Maybe hit Kevin up too to get both perspectives.

She works for shredder but she was never part of the foot. She was an assassin/robber for hire.
