Um....it's really not that much different year to year after about 25. I'm not 30 yet (give me 5 months)....but I'm sure I'll feel little difference between it and 29.

My first exposure to the Turtles was via the 80s series, Then I heard about the comics at that time and started reading the TMNT Archies Series comics, I have some of the black and white ones, But I like the Archies Series ones better, Because it was a little closer to the original series.

From what I hear most 30 year olds are stuck through this awkward phase of realizing they're getting older and losing the last aspects of their childhood and 20's antics and immaturity fade away.

If only there was some way to be immortalized once you hit 29.

It really just depends...some people aren't that "wild and crazy" and year to year it's pretty much the same.

But when you're in your 20's you can still act somewhat immature as they feel like extended teen years.

When you're 30 you have to become a super serious, no-nonsense adult and take care of the family while all your leisure activities disappear.

Didn't know there was some unwritten rule about chronological age bringing maturity. I've know people older than me that were far less mature and vice versa. It's all really relative.

Drinking excessively from time to time helps.

There was a time when I seriously didn't intend to live very long, so technically, I guess, I've been going through my mid-life crisis since high school.

Nah, I'unno, 30+ is ok. People do treat you differently and I think that makes people feel differently about themselves, though. I think most people only feel anxiety about getting older because they're not living the life people constantly tell them they're "supposed" to be living at a certain age.

Most of what makes me aware of getting older is just that I'm constantly in pain, but that's kind of your own fault when you willfully inflict car crash-level injuries on yourself nearly every weekend. Still, at some point you do notice that you don't heal as fast as you used to, and it takes a little longer to get out of bed on some days.

But even on bad days, I still can't buy beer without ID. That kind of makes me feel better about the whole age thing. Clearly I'm still fooling someone.

Even so, when you're in your 20's you can still act somewhat immature and act like an "young adult" and nobody really cares. Most people just graduate from College then and still have no idea what to do with their lives.

If you act like that when you're 30 you'll get stared at with a, "what the hell is wrong with you?" look. 30 year olds are not expected to be reading comics, playing videogames or watching cartoons unless you're doing it with your young son. If you're doing it without a kid with you people think you're mentally delayed.

I get paid to wear tights and play-fight with other grown men, most of whom also have their own cartoon and toy obsessions. We do this in public in front of large groups of people. "WTF is wrong with you?" is kind of a standard question that I/We deal with, but the comics and toys are really not what is most puzzling to so-called "normal" people.

Nope. Never part of the plan. To be blunt, I could never have done half the things I've been able to do in my life if I had kids. I have neither the time nor the money and it would be irresponsible to even pretend otherwise. Too many people have kids because they feel it's something society expects or requires, but in most cases, it's a really irresponsible decision. (Note I said "most", not "all")

My sister has two kids, and while she loves them dearly, her own personal life if a mess for a lot of reasons, but a lot of it simply came from taking on far too much responsibility at a time in her life when she wasn't prepared to handle it and had nobody really helping her, and she's really burned out and depressed and unhappy. She doesn't specifically regret having kids, but she does at times admit that her own life would be a lot easier if she hadn't.

Everyone thinks it's so easy, I think, and I absolutely know it's something I can't handle, so I never planned to. I liken it to military service - thank God other people do it so that I don't have to.

And besides, I absolutely f*cking suck at sharing my toys and I have a history of physically penalizing people for breaking them. I think it's wise to avoid those kinds of potential... misunderstandings.

Technically the reason to have kids is so someone can look after you when you hit the ripe old age of 70.

You serious? Half the time they stick you in some shady nursing home where they may or may not be stretching out your breakfast cereal with crunchy cat food. Kids are vindictive. I wouldn't trust some kid to fully understand why I simply couldn't take him to the zoo because I had to work or something, and would fully expect them to remember it and retaliate when I was old and semi-helpless.

Besides, I'm pretty sure any kid of mine would also inherit my personality, and I'm sure we've all had enough of that.

Well the other reason is to give your kid a better life than you had, and probably handle them better as a parent than your parents handled you.

Also to be able to pass things you loved down to them, like wrestling/comics/cartoons, etc.

I. Don't. Share. Let 'em get a job and buy their own! I did! Me and my old man once went to the junkyard and scrapped aluminum cans for 5 hours in mid-July because I desperately needed $25 to buy a set of action figures. (This is considered somewhat "normal" if you're a kid and your family is on welfare.) Let these little misfits learn the value of a dollar and hard work!

Nah, it'd be nice to have someone to pass something down to, but there's no promise they'd like the same things anyway. Me and my parents had only a small number of common interests; all I got from my father when he died was his collection of comics and sports cards, but we had a frank discussion about how while I was happy to get them, I was likely only going to sell them, and he understood that. I wasn't as passionate about the things he was, and while he said it was OK, it wasn't a comfortable conversation. Plus, if it ever came down to it, my niece and nephew might possibly still be into the same stuff when they're older, so who knows?

But I absolutely couldn't give my kid a better life than I had. I had it pretty good for a few years at the start, and a long stretch of garbage afterwards, but even then, my parents had much more stability than I have, and they somehow managed to do that despite crippling substance addictions. I may not be an alcoholic, but I can't afford a mortgage, either, so maybe I don't have my sh*t together as tight as I like to think. Bringing a kid into my specific life would be a really poor decision, and I just don't wanna be one of those people. I'm a responsible adult, but barely.

Plus, good-looking people often have questionable-looking children. I am far too shallow to risk my potential kid's self-esteem by pasting He-Man's face on their body in every family Christmas photo. But I absolutely would if it was necessary.

I see. Well at least Jester will bring up his son loving TMNT as much as he does. Or at least I hope so.

I think almost all the parents on this forum are actually introducing their young kids to TMNT. It brings warmth to my heart to see TMNT finally spread from the original generation to new kids.

Yay for Jester! Good for him! Let him wash his hands a thousand times a day and have a miniature person throw up on a thousand perfectly good volleyball T-shirts! When anyone throws up in MY house, it's not because "they're adowwable," it's because somebody forgot where they put the "Pulp Fiction Kit" and it's a strict "No Cops" situation.

(OK, I was just doing shtick with that last part. Just struck me funny for some reason. )

Nah, he seems much better suited for it than I am. Seriously.

I was impressed my niece got into TMNT all on her own with no input from me at all. I'd never mentioned it, she just loved the 2K3 series and then started watching the OT on YouTube. She never saw the movies until I got them for her on DVD in like 2009, but really loved the first one. It was neat that she liked something I liked but for all her own reasons. My nephew got seriously into wrestling but I'm fairly certain I had an influence on that, since I stayed with them for a while and it would be on TV a lot.

Just turned 23 back in December. Mom sat me down in front of the TV to watch Ninja Turtles when I was 2 while she made breakfast. I've been hooked since then.
