New Film Details From The LEGO Sets

From here: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/172...toy-fair.jhtml

Quote:
LEGO My Turtles
There are three LEGO sets that will be released: the first is the Turtles' truck, for $39.99; the second was a battle set for $69.99, featuring a female villain with a stripe of red hair, and Megan Fox's April O'Neil; and a third, a giant underground lair retailing for $99.99 and containing Splinter, Shredder, and more. None of the sets had box art or specific names as of yet.

The Secret Of The Ooze
The truck set had LEGO ooze, though, that can drop out of the back. So in case you were wondering whether the classic piece of the Ninja Turtles' origin would be left out of the movie, worry no more. "Of course there's ooze! You've gotta have ooze," LEGO's rep told us.

TMNT
We can also confirm the name of the movie is "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," though it was changed from the simpler "Ninja Turtles" so late in the process that Playmates had already sent all of their product to the printer. LEGO had the full title treatment, with "Teenage Mutant" much smaller over the more prominent "Ninja Turtles."

Fox, Now More Like A Fox
Playmates has a focused, but extremely comprehensive line of toys for the movie. The look of the turtles was more reptilian, while Splinter (the rat who trains the turtles) and The Shredder (William Fichtner) hew more towards their classic looks. From both the LEGOs and the Playmates toys, it seems like the normally raven-haired Megan Fox will have red or auburn tresses as April O'Neil. She'll look more like a fox then! Because foxes have reddish hair.

Foot Soldiers Are In The Clear
Playmates will release a line of Basic Movie Figures on July 6 for $8.99, featuring Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello, a Foot Soldier, The Shredder, April O'Neil, and Splinter. This will be followed by a Raphael in trench coat figure later on. Of note, the Foot Soldier came with a removable clear mask. We're not sure why, though it apparently was directly from the movie.

That Figures
Playmates' Deluxe Movie line retails for $12.99, and you can squeeze the character's legs for Ninja Action. Then there's 11" tall Turtles for $19.99, which are made up of the main four turtles and are huge. Beyond that, there's Ninja Combat Gear, which features a movie reproduction of each Turtle's weapon and appropriate colored mask.

Van Down By The Sewer
And finally, a Turtle Assault Van directly from the movie, sized to fit the basic action figures. It also features an escape/assault luge that flies out the back of the van, and is big enough to hold one Turtle. It was emphasized that this is featured in the movie as well.

Anyone else think that "S" on the truck carrying the ooze stands for Sachs?

Yep. It also fits in nicely with what the Shredder actor has been saying about how the Shredder and the Turtles haven’t been as connected as much as they are here before.

Also, where did you get that picture? Any more?

By luck, on Facebook. Not sure if there's more though. I'll keep an eye out, just in case more pics pop up.

Spoiler:
The movie-specific Ninja Turtles display featured three items. The Turtles’ lair set-up included minifigures of Leonardo riding a skateboard and Donatello donning what looked to be night vision goggles. The building was a two-story structure with a slide for easy ground floor access on one side. One small detail worth noting is a gold sword that slid underneath the ground floor, presumably for hiding. The second package came with two vehicles, a large van and a smaller truck. The truck belonged to the April, Leonardo and Raphael minifigures and the van to two Foot Soldiers and a character that could possibly be Minae Noji who’s rumored to play Karai. That larger van opens up along the side, revealing an extensive laboratory including tiny bottle cap-like pieces representing the ooze. The final set included yet another vehicle, a green Humvee of sorts for Raphael and Michelangelo. We’ve also got a Foot Solider manning a security tower attached to a drive-thru gate. In between that gate and the Turtles is a fourth character trapped in a chair, possibly Will Arnett’s Vernon Fenwick, suggesting that the sequence of play is meant to be the turtles driving up to a Foot facility to rescue Vernon who’s trapped inside.

I hope TCRI is still behind the mutagen but I'm scared it's going to be something stupid like Sachs Industries. There was a report that said the S logo was on the canister

I love that they couldn't even get their act together to get the titles matching from the movie to the merch.

So they've been sitting on promo material for a year and haven't bothered to release anything official in that entire time?

Cluster. ****.
