5 months from release.

This couldn't have been funnier if I had planned it myself.

Like everyone had full 100% faith in Avatar before it was release. There were those who thought it was utter trash that's the problem with the internet you always have those people. People still think the movie was trash. Doesn't make them right and they can have their Opinion but there are those who love the turtle likes what we've seen Those who have seen it first hand have nothing but praise for it. That insight into what to expect.

DId they feel the Need they had to Shove it in people faces hey this is good looky. No they were patient and waited for the right time they felt comfertable with. Their movie took 10 year 10 freaking years to make and the marketed it for 4 MONTHS 5 if you include a BTS shown during comic con. If that was this movie forget about it Everyone's lost there **** over this movie because it wrapped in august of last year. just imagine seriously.

And you sure as well know that if anything was leaked for Avatar it would have been pulled and deleted. ANd if it was it would be made fun of Because when context is lacking anything can look ridiculous.

Comic con barely counts dude. Its pretty much a Behind closed doors event similar to what TMNT has already done anyway so if that doesn't count nether can this.

And point still Stands we have 5-6 moths left They can still market it accordingly and does not mean its Failed yet.

Edit going to bed be back tomorrow after work

Oh absolutely. The "actually naked painted skin without certain organs" look wouldn't translate to film, so of course it has to be modified and styled to look right on film, to look believable.

But there's no question that Marvel has proven that comic book style works just fine with a general audience and that your whole cast doesn't have to wear black leather or gray cloth to be accepted by mainstream audiences.

I still laugh when I think about the differences between studios.

DC: Wonder Woman is hard to translate to film. There's so much magic and mythology surrounding her that we have to get it just right to bring it to audiences and do her justice.
Marvel: Here's a space adventure with a gun toting raccoon and a talking tree!

I think Black Nerd Rants nailed it. Guardians of the Galaxy is a test to see if Marvel really can just legally print money. If Guardians of the Galaxy is a success, the door's open, anything is fair game.

Those are set visits.

They'll say "it looks awesome!" no matter what.

You said "seen it." As in the movie? Who has seen the movie?

did the people During the Avatar screening see the whole movie? No they saw what 25 min of a 2 hr movie. that was a BEHIND THE SCENES look at the movie.

TMNT has Had set visit, Toy fairs, Movie fairs (for production companies )and so far everything shown was BTS and had NDA's so of-course We've not seen or heard everything about all of them. But all the leaks about how they look and those photo had to come from somewhere. Also Those who saw the 25 mins of film had signed NDA's as well, meaning they could not talk about them until a designated date.

In my experience, it's better to keep your expectations low and be blown away and pleasantly surprised than to keep them very high and then the film not be able to meet them.

I probably like X-Men: First Class more because I went into it with such a low opinion and it was better than I was expecting.

I'm doing the same with TMNT simply based on a distrust of Hollywood and Michael Bay (ever since Cuba, man, I just can't trust that guy). I'm hoping the trailer makes me pleasantly surprised.

It did dawn on me...I wonder if Splinter is Yoshi's rat in this iteration. It just seems weird to me that Splinter is, I would assume, going to be so small while the turtles are freakin' 6 feet tall or more.

I don't think Galaxy will be that successful. Most people hate sci-fi.

Yeah, that must be why all those Star Wars films flopped.

Did I really just read that SDCC doesn't count when it comes to the marketing and promotion of a movie?

That might be the dumbest thing posted in this thread...which is saying something.

With your own two eyes.

With your own two eyes.

The lengths some people will go to to defend bad things just because could be counted as world records.

It doesn't when it was an event that was Behind closed doors and people are not allowed to disclose any information signing NDAs. Then it doesn't count as marketing or it doesn't count in the case of pertaining the tmnt because they have had similar Behind closed door event for fans and press. the same as it was for Avatar so yes in this instance it does not count.

It's a Marvel movie. Everyone's going to see a Marvel movie. Most people are not you, fortunately, and enjoy sci-fi for the most part.

Exactly!!!!

The "Marvel" name has so much positive cache going for it right now, that someone had the balls to throw GOTG out there in a pitch meeting and a studio head said "**** it, why not?"

They gained this notoriety by making good movies. Even the bad Marvel films are pretty good (Iron Man 2). Their track record is so good that simply starting each GOTG trailer with a Marvel logo guarantees it will win Aug...hands down.

When it comes to DC the only positivity they have going for them is Batman. The DC name carries no weight with the "casuals". Green Lantern was horrid, and as good as Man of Steel was, it still didn't blow up as expected. Putting Batman in the next Superman movie was the best idea DC films has had in a long time.

SCI-FI is Probably the most common movie among fantasy. Plenty of people like SCI-FI and technically Thor could be considered SCI-FI

Marvel has proven them selves. But A production company that Makes Commonly thought of as meh movies(transformers) make just as much money if not more for "sub-par" movies. Say what you will. Paramount and Platinum Dunes now how to market and make descent movies just like everyone else. Turtles is Widely popular Right knoe With tones of kid and there parents supporting the movie and Once parents realize their kids Favorite Show is being turned into a Live action movie, that they could also enjoy. That's Potentially a lot of people plus. Comic book movie nerds. Plus the trailer is releasing with one of the most anticipated Marvel movie reaching to tone of other potential viewers.

Im just saying it's about six in one and half a dozen in the other.

Oh, where to begin with this?

First, there were tons of reports from the Avatar screening immediately after SDCC. I don't know where you got that NDA nonsense. SDCC is where you go if you want to build buzz for your film. Avatar did that.

Second, are you really comparing the screening of the first 25 minutes of a film to images of Lego toys? Yeah, those toys really built some buzz for TMNT like the SDCC panel did for Avatar.
