Im just saying it's about six in one and half a dozen in the other.
It is fair to point out that these guys, Michael Bay and Paramount, do put out what are some of the biggest movies outside of Marvel.

TMNT may be no match for the Marvel machine, but there's not much better competition you could have. And TMNT probably has an edge on kids (and their families), considering most won't be familiar with Guardians, or care about a studio logo. I still say Guardians needs to put a popular Marvel character in their promotions, or do something obvious in Cap 2, so kids see this is all connected. I don't know if they'd pick up on that "collector" thing...

No. That'd ruin the whole point.

Second, are you really comparing the screening of the first 25 minutes of a film to images of Lego toys? Yeah, those toys really built some buzz for TMNT like the SDCC panel did for Avatar.
I'm not just talking about keep and the toys I'm taking about the set visit and press screenings, i while bunch of people got to go check out bts stuff for Tmnt. And they have nothing but positive feedback. That what I'm comparing this to and tree done tone even comic con has stuff that toy have to sign nda's i almost went to two last time i was at comic con. But seeing as i get exited i didn't want to get in trouble talking about the stuff.

i was trying to get at that i love transformers but others don't and they call it a terrible movie so if he can make a terrible movie make just as much as a good marvel, imagine what he could do with an equally if not more popular franchise that's at it's peek if popularity and it's own second coming.

Of making money?

I'm not saying shoehorn a character into the actual movie. Just throw some crap in the commercial, like, "In the universe of The Avengers..." and flash a few faces.

I see what you're saying. I thought you meant, like, making Iron Man part of the movie or something, which would be an awful idea.

irony of that statement is i think that might be the case the whole point of his deep space armor in IM3 was that it was an Easter egg for GOTG

He was a member of them at one point and time

According to rumors the original post-credits scene of Iron Man 3 was him going into space using his "deep space" suit and discovering something GotG-related.

What we got instead was the equivalent of a "screw you!" from Shane Black. God that movie was terrible.

So with all that...

Did Guardians of the Galaxy just win the month of August, and is this another nail in the TMNT 2014 movie coffin?
Nope. Two factors 1. Turtles are better known plus the kids factor(and older fans going to see it despite fan boy internet whining) and 2. Let's be real here the turtles trailer could be 30 seconds and as long the turtles look good design wise and look good fighting while having some cool banter among the turtles people will go Guardians of the who or what again?

They don't.

They show whatever they edit them up to show you can't tell what's going to happen in the whole movie no matter how many trailers or teasers you want.

I think if anything turtles will draw more people that have nostalgia, the guardians doesn't have as much I think, I had never even heard of them until the toys came out a while back.

However the same people that watch the turtles are more than likely to go watch the guardians too.

I loved Iron Man 3. I thought it was okay to good in theaters, but when I put in the blu ray to have background noise while working on some things in the house, I wound up watching the entire thing on the couch paying full attention.

The post credits scene, in my opinion, was absolutely great.

I'm not expecting Cap to have a GotG lead in post-credits, though. From what I've read, Cap has a set up for Avengers 2.

Now, I'll agree the marketing build up might be well suited to establish a connection, which astute observers already know is there from Thor 2.

They mention the Tesaract is in the Asgard vaults when they take the Aether to the Collector and say two power stones shouldn't be in the same place. The Collector says "one down..." suggesting he's gathering these "power stones" and Thanos was tied into Avengers and apparently ties into Guardians of the Galaxy.

Seems to me that if the Tesaract (*cough*Cosmic Cube*cough*) is serving as a power stone and we've got two, plus Thanos..... Marvel Phase 3 is going to be building up to the Infinity Gauntlet for Avengers 3.

I just hope the infinity gauntlet stuff isn't another big middle finger. Loved Mandarin as a kid and wasn't too happy with Iron-Man III. It was alright but the first two were much better imho. Can't wait for Guardians. I'll be going to see both TMNT and Gardians in August, but I'm more excited for this one because of the Avengers connections and all.

TMNT will go massive at the box office, just like Transformer did.

Have you seen All Hail the King on the Thor 2 blu ray?

Spoiler:
Basically it's about Trevor Slattery, the Mandarin from Iron Man 3, in prison. A journalist is interviewing him to understand more about him and his background. At the end of their interview, he reveals he's not a journalist... After asking if Slattery researched the origins of The Mandarin (Slattery didn't), it's revealed the supposed journalist is a member of the Ten Rings (group that captured Tony in Iron Man 1 to begin with) and essentially they've come to break Slattery out of prison and take him "to the man whose name you stole."

Some speculation if it's a set up for Iron Man 4

I'm thinking they're using "power stones" in place of "infinity stones."

Basically six stones that, when gathered in the infinity gauntlet, grants the wielder god-like power.

What explanation are you looking for with the Chitauri?

I think they called them "infinity stones" over 'infinity gems", actually.

Yup pretty much this ^_^ As for Chitauri there and Alien species Being controlled by Thanos (big purple guy at the end of Avengers)(also commonly known as the wielder of the infinity Gauntlet) To attack earth and enslave it.
