I will say from what we've seen of the CGI, it looks absolutely amazing! Really wish we got a trailer that fully showcases this.

The transcript gives me flashes back to the Imagi movie, well. I guess the script writers can muster up the bare basic of the turtles.

Raph's "boy scout" comment there is okay, but.....

For some reason my favorite line for him IS actually from Imagi's 2007 TMNT...

"Spoken like a true has-been."

Funny enough, Wolverine used to call Cyclops a 'boyscout' too. When I read the script, I immediately thought of the original 90s X-Men cartoon, lol.

My favorite Raph line is, '"y-o, I don't know, cause I wanted to redecorate, a couple of throw pillows, a tv news reporter..." Sarcasm, cracks me up.

I need to just save a link to Jester's post to use in response to everyone who starts this exact discussion.

But, the Trascript only gives us the bare basics (like the Imagi movie). Leo is leadery, Raph is angsty and Mikey is easily amused and Don, is just there. it isn't a whole lot of text we've given in teh trabscript.

But I do hope Mikey is more then just "ehehehehe doodie", that he is more like Spider-Man when it comes to jokes, and being a prankster, and not... Peter Griffin.

I'll give props when it deserves so, and I have given props to some aspects of what we've seen. Such as the tone of the lighting, the integration of the character models and the hands of the Turtle models looks very well done, as well as the texture job done on them. And hey, I'm still alive!

O yes, I am sooo cynical. Grr grr I hate all new TMNT stuff GRRR!

Well, you are a fairly new member, but shock, oh shock. Opinions change. I was fairly positive about the movie up until the Turtle designs where reviled. then I laughed for about 5 minutes straight, after that I worried that I might have cracked a rib after a lot of chest pain. And then, the news have just been rolling downhill from there.

I love most things TMNT, from the Mirage comics to Next Mutation, to the new Nick show. The new movie is probably the only piece of this property (as of this date) that I do not like.

As of now, I predict I'll like the Blue Line special more then the Platinum Dunes movie.

That's entirely your opinion

a lot of things that convince me they aren't doing it justice. From some of the casting to the character design to the way its been marketed

Some of you are really odd. Like what little we have seen is like a flippant abomination of the TMNT franchise and it's ABSURD trend setting quality levels.

The point of the franchise is the comedy, the satire, the action, and it doesn't take itself seriously. It's fun. Which by all accounts of what we've seen, this looks to be on some levels.
Again, entirely your opinion.

Even though we've seen Barely Any Action (other than an antenna fall and Raph Smash Humvee), Zero Satire, and only One piece of comedy (the same 'it's just a Mask' joke repeated).

So one piece of comedy, zero satire, very little/Barely Any Action is all it takes? That's cool for you. To each their own. Doesn't mean it's that way for everyone. Using the whole 'you're just whiny' is too much an easy as well as flippant response.

And actually yes, I do like the 2003 cartoon more than Batman: The Animated Series. And I like the first two Ninja turtle films more than Nolan's trilogy (which I always felt was overrated). And I like the original Mirage stuff more than Watchmen.

That's why it's called Opinions.

I would like to see the turtles return to the basic Daredevil kinda tone, also Shredder is cool and all but i want to see a satire of Kingpin, just a Wilson Fisk kinda cryme boss, wouldn't that be cool? (Not Eric Sach because that's just stupid).

no offense but if you don't think whats come before stands up against what YOU consider to be better that's your deal and your opinion. personally I would say 2k3 is on par with btas and spectacular spiderman as like both of those it captured the tone and spirit of the original source material. as much as could be done in a Saturday morning cartoon anyway. and the 2k7 movie had its problems but it got a lot more right than it did wrong. mostly it just suffered from forgettable villains and plot. and the original comics may not have the political and social overtones of watchman but it told engaging stories about concepts like the nature or revenge, the meaning of family, loyalty and brotherhood and the endless cycle that violence creates. so if this movie is living up to your idea of the franchise that's great but me I just don't see it
