So apparently GOTG has screened, and they are extremely happy with it. it's especially nice to hear that they're still talking about the film's franchise potential and even being compared somewhat to Avengers.

I really hope this film lives up to expectations.

Days of Future Past is getting mostly positive reviews from early/advanced showings now too, apparently.

I read about that. I'm pretty damn surprised, too. I'm interested in that movie myself, but I had a pretty strong hunch this was one that would get torn apart by critics.

Maybe it will be praised by critics, hated by fans?

It seems like "give it back to Marvel" is the trumpet call regardless of the movie or non-Marvel studio now.

Personally I think the non Marvel Studios franchises could get really good with the right mentality behind them. I'm actually curious to see what direction X-Men takes in the post-Avengers Hollywood with Mark Millar working with Fox.

Teaser 2 clip up.

Preview of the upcoming new trailer, slated to debut on this Monday, 05/19/2014. This will probably be the trailer to accompany X-Men DOFP.

I get a feeling that kiss scene between Starlord and Gamorra may be a bit amusing.....she's wearing his headphones. I can just imagine some near-cheesy love song on his walkman for that.

I was interested in it, until I heard they pretty much cut out all of Rogue's scenes, and she's the only thing I care about in this franchise now, so, with her semi-gone, lost my interest again. I liked the first two X-Men, hated the third, and Wolverine Origins, and I was disappointed with First Class after all the hype, didn't even bother with the last Wolverine flick, and I doubt I'll be seeing this one anytime soon. Maybe when it comes on NetFlix. Maybe.

And you're missing out on The Wolverine. *tsk tsk* Your loss.

I did a short review before, here it is:

I must say I love it very much. And it's far deeper than I anticipated.

It tells the story of human's mortality. About growing old, about dying. Family traditions and ancestral relationship. The Japanese theme and settings are just gorgeous to behold. And Hugh Jackman is the sexiest I've ever seen. There's also Jean Grey and Mariko, hot babes tbh.

Essentially, this is a sequel to X3 which is nice for those wondering what happens after that. Well this is the movie for you.

Now I only have a bit of gripe with how they ended the movie. The red haired girl, previously Mariko's bodyguard now follows Logan as his new bodyguard. Huh? As if he needed that. She should've stayed with Mariko, protecting her since she's the Head of her grandfather's empire now. She could use all the protection she can get. What more, Logan has nowhere to go - he decided not to die and continue living. But why wander around aimlessly when clearly Mariko loves him? He could've stayed. He let go of Jean (though he still loves her). And when in the jet, he has no idea where to go and just said "let's just fly first... and we'll see", to which the red haired Japanese girl said "okay. Interesting.". Cue awkward pause. The movie ends.

Wat.

Despite that, everything before that is just amazing.

9/10. I'd rank it:

X1
The Wolverine
X-1st Class
X3
X2
XOrigin - Wolverine

The original ending was better. It's essentially exactly the same, but she gives Logan a box (you can see the box being given to her outside the plane before she boards in the theatrical release), he asks what's in it, she says a gift. When he opens it, the brown/yellow mask and gloves are in there, suggesting his more classic costume is there and THAT is what she is indicating when she says "Interesting."

I liked it because it made it seem like his classic costume, including mask, is designed in a bit of a samurai influence and is a gift from Mariko. It also, to me, gave a bit more of an indication that Mariko knows there are things he needs to do, things he needs to take care of, away from Japan and she's supporting him resolving those issues. The "let's just start with up" could be more that he isn't entirely sure where to start (he's got a lot of baggage to sort through out there).

Yeah, at this rate TMNT is doomed (it's actually been doomed from the start, but whatever).

Yeah, justice demands that hard working people get punished.

They seem like fun characters, from what little I've seen them in comics. I actually just added Guardians of the Galaxy to my pull list, because I think Captain Marvel's gonna roll with them for a while. So, we'll see.
