Agreed. If this is what his writing is typically like, then they need to do it now. His writing is just awesome!

Watch the episode again. The very first picture that comes up when Tiger Claw is describing how he came back shows him battling the OT Turtles (with Donatello and Michelangelo on their backs).

Well at least Turtles Forever shown the 80s TMNT as competent fighters instead of being one shot in a still

I loved this episode!
It was seriously so good!
I was so glad they explained how Tigerclaw got back even though I do wish it had been animated.
I understand they probably couldn't have though with everything else they squeezed into the episode though.
And boy everything else they squeezed in was great!
My boyfriend isn't the biggest fan of TMNT but he knows I love it and sort of half watches the show with me and this episode held his attention through the entire thing.
I have to go back and talk about those images which I believe are by Ciro?
Man we see the 80's turtles again!, new aliens, Triceratons!!, and maybe a Neutrino!, and a creature that looks quite a bit like it could be Tokka!
I have to say I really love how this series can go from extremely silly with Pizzaface and then toss a darker episode in right after.
I also really loved the meat locker fight it, it reminded me of a horror movie.
Also tricky tricky Ciro!! When I saw the end my jaw dropped and I gasped "Those story boards are real!" haha
I've got to give this episode a 10! Bring the guy back who wrote this one and have him do a bunch more! Awesome stuff!

I can't wait for next week with Fishface and the rest!

While it was an overall great characterization driven episode I was surprised it was not touched on how Tiger Claw was able to return from inside the worm in the 1987 cartoon dimension. I was hoping for more involvement of the '87 cartoon turtles.

Its much earlier in the series than I expected for Karai to be confronted with the truth and accept it. It seems like something that would have taken place early in the last season so its going to be interesting where Karai's character will be taken. There is always her joining Slash as an anti-hero.

I can't shake the feeling that Karai is going to be mutated and the ooze will cause her to be "brainwashed" and blame the Turtles / Splinter. I just don't see them having Karai as an ally so soon.

Ah, i would hate that to happen. It'll be like Mutagen Man and how he lost it and turned on the Turtles since he wasn't in his right mind.

But...if this does happen, I hope that the turtles witness the mutation process when trying to rescue her and then failing so that they know that she's just an innocent victim in all of this. Could you imagine Leo in that type of situation?

I loved this one. Always great to see TigerClaw. I love cats. What can I say? He's one of my favorite villains. He's very vicious, even going as far as beating up on a blind guy. I like how merciless he can be. Hoping Murakami decides to learn a bit of self defense soon. Maybe next time when his shop is besieged, he should try going for his opponents' eyes. Sure, kids show, won't happen, yada yada yada. Speaking of lost eyes, wondering if TC will consider getting a cybernetic replacement one of these days. Cubed mentioned MK and I couldn't help but think of Kano. haha

Not much to add here. Really liked the fight scenes in this episode and loved Kelly Hu's performance. She's always fantastic. Can't wait to see the next three episodes. Man, Shredder is being as ruthless as I imagined him to be concerning Karai so far.

Really loved this episode. It got back into the plot, but better than they've done previously. It was dark, moving, and character driven. Something I think we've had this season. Also, great artistic visuals, especially in the fight scenes.

Potentially my favorite so far this season. Really enjoyed it, and I'm excited to see where this goes.

AWESOME EPISODE. Might not be, but the hanging meat scene TOTALLY felt like a Predator 2 homage. That whole fight was great.

This was Fantastic...

After so many side-stories of the Kraang and the different mutants each week, this has been such a refreshing change. The writing team should really pat themselves on the back for this. The pacing was great, the quick backstory to Tiger Claw's return from Dimension X was really good with the flashback style that they use - I love the simple colorscheme on those.

Karai really felt like a three-dimensional character in this. She went through So many different emotions when she found out the truth from Splinter. Sadly, as much as she knows the truth now, I don't think they'll be able to really repair that relationship. She's been brainwashed into her way of life for so long, there's just some damage that can't be repaired.

The choreography in the slaughterhouse meatlocker was amazing. When the saw turned on, I Really thought they were going to USE it, considering the amount of Horror influences in the show. The suspense and the end result of the battle was incredible.

It was nice to see Mikey useful in this episode. The ice skating silliness alright, but dang... poor kid. How one would get his shell knocked loose is beyond me though. I'm curious if Mikey's gonna be out of commission in next week's episode, or if he'll be magically healed within a week or something.

I'm looking forward to next week - I'm definitely going to watch this episode again. There's bound to be stuff we missed in the first watching...

Just saw this episode. Wow. Best of season 2 by far, the loved how serious it was. Namedropping the Rat King was pretty cool too.

But the real winner in this episode? That badass meat locker scene. It felt so good watching a serious episode of the show, especially after Pizzaface.

That scene was just pure gold! The choreography, the fighting, the stealth mode - especially Don and Mikey standing behind the swinging carcasses and then disappearing - there where so many cool details. And Karai really showing some skills as well

I guess it makes sense if he's onboard for at least the other episodes in that arc. I hope he is, that was some good writing

I'm glad most people seem to really like the episode, as I did...

Looks like that of the 3 episodes coming up (all in a row, yay!) 2 will be 'story' type episodes and 1 will be filler/contained.

I think the reason people like Tiger Claw is he's not a mindless monster mutant and he has an actual character. He would have fit in with the old-style mutants.

When Donnie disappeared (and the rest of the stealthy parts of that scene) I got a very Mirage comics like vibe from it.
